Well if you haven’t written a poetry book about the horse then you’re not a fan by his standards

And we know he beats Min anyway. On countless occasions.

Even my 3 year old son can count to 2

Blackbow is priced up for the Champion Bumper with Paddy Power; is that a mistake? Can you run in 2 Bumpers? he hasn’t debuted over Hurdles yet; presumably because of the ground

Back him in running; last year it looked like Min was cruising and Altior was in trouble; I’d say you would have got better than 1/3 or even 4/9 at that stage..

I’m a big fan of Min; he’s a quality horse but I can’t see him winning a Ryan Air because he is an out and out 2 miler; no question about that. He’s way to free when the pace isn’t strong. I rate Min as the second best 2 mile chaser in training and I’d say he’d be a 3 time festival winner already if it wasn’t for the injury he had in 2017 and fact that he’s unfortunate to be around at the same time as Altior. He won the John Durkan on his first run this year and Ruby had to strangle him all the way around. He had too much class for the rest at the end but it was Balko Des Flos and Shattered Love who he beat that day and he only beat them by a couple of lengths and they have gone on to disappoint since. He is at his best over 2 miles but unfortunately they know he’s a good half a stone to find on Altior. I wouldn’t give up on that. He’s a year younger than Altior so keep trying; don’t run away to the Ryan Air where he’s not guaranteed to get home. I’d say he’ll run against Footpad at the DRF and if he beats Footpad then he should go to the Champion Chase. Footpad would be more suited to teh RyanAir I think.

Hopefully The DRF can shine a bit of light on it all.

Nah, when he said he bleeds what he meant was he’s not untouchable and that he is beatable. He meant it figuratively, not literally

I understand that logic for Sizing John and Presenting Percy because they’re Grade 1 open company animals. Blackbow & Carefully Selected haven’t won a Maiden Hurdle; there are plenty of Maiden Hurdle opportunities on softer ground like Cork, Limerick, Tramore etc..

Yeah, fair enough; I hadn’t looked back at him beyond last years race. If he does like Good ground then that’s more reason to put me off based on his runs this season.

I’d be against Balko Des Flos. Think the heavy sticky ground helped him last year. Based on the evidence of his runs in Ireland on good ground this year he should be nowhere near good enough; especially if Monalee and Waiting Patiently turn up.

He’s injured but he hasn’t been ruled out for the season yet.

Do you not think The Storyteller has been found out? Do you think he’s gonna want good ground? Behind Shattered Love and Balko Des Flos over 2 and a half and ahead of them over 3; does that not point to him probably not having the turn of foot? Interesting to hear what you see in him

Actually a great race tomorrow at Naas. The form of BOD and TF’s maidens have been franked but there are other good improving horses thrown in here for good measure; the winner of this race will likely be up there with Champ this time tomorrow. Mullins is quietly confident about Tornado Flyer in his blog

I agree with all that. He’s an out and out 2 miler. He has plenty of class which means he will get the RyanAir trip but he is at his best over 2 miles with a strong pace. 7L behind Altior is his standard; he’s a 170 horse. The problem is Altior is a 177 horse (IMO) and that’s just the problem. He is a year younger than Altior so maybe there is slight room for improivement. I think the only reason they are considering the RyanAir is because they know he can’t beat Altior. I think Min would beat Footpad in a 2 mile race on Good Ground and I think Footpad would beat Min over 2 mile 5f. If Footpad went to the RyanAir instead of Min it would be a great race; UDS, Footpad, Monalee, Politilouge.

Shattered Love and Balko Des Flos have really upset the form of the John Durkan win

Big clue in this race; we should see La Bague Au Roi take on Delta Work in the Dublin Racing Festival. That should help us marry up the form on either side of the Irish Sea and give a better indication on who to be with for this and The JLT. If Delta Work spanks La Bague Au Roi then I’d be happy enough to back Irish horses for all the Novice Chases but of Delta Woirk is beaten then Topofthegame will be my RSA horse. Santini way too short.

For Arkle I’m floating between Le Richebourg and Dynamite Dollars
For the JLT it’s Getabird, Hardline or Mortal (depending who shows up)
For RSA its Delta Work v Topoftehgame.

The DRF will help me decide
