Early market leaders are Santini for Henderson and Next Destination for Mullins; both came up a bit short at Cheltenham; both look to be Staying Chasers. Hopefully both stay healthy.
November 2, 2018 at 11:53 #1379286I think the 25’s for Delta Work looks fair right now. We’ll obviously know a bit more this afternoon, but he would be a strong early fancy, but no bet yet.
Delta Work 25’s
November 4, 2018 at 16:20 #1379695Quite happy with that debut from Delta. Clouted the last, but although I haven’t parted with any cash yet, I’m tempted, as I’m a bit surprised that the 25’s held.
November 4, 2018 at 17:30 #137969933’s is tempting for Glenloe and requested him to be added on the exchange to see what those folks can come up with.
Pretty sure last year Gordon said they think chasing will be his game
November 4, 2018 at 20:21 #1379725I thought they were a bit premature returning Bacardys to hurdles after one fall. Mullins says he’ll be returning to fences this season.
November 5, 2018 at 11:40 #1379770I think this is one hell of a division this year : so many potential top class staying novices from several stables with good chasing pedigrees.
I’ve almost twenty horses on my shortlist for this
November 5, 2018 at 11:52 #1379771And that’s just the Seven Barrows inmates!
November 5, 2018 at 19:01 #1379794Hahaha…exactly !
November 6, 2018 at 05:16 #1379850I’m on Delta Work for any race from the end of last season (after his punchestown run in the Grade 1 begins Next Destination).
I’m a fan of ND so I’ve backed him here but also Cracking Smart as the latter shaped like he’d beat ND over further when they met.
Next Destination @ 10/1

Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
December 1, 2018 at 12:43 #1387689Hopefully Santini hacks up, suspect any victory will be a bit narrow though. He isn’t going to be fully wound up for this.
December 1, 2018 at 12:58 #1387693A decent start considering 1st time out. Made a mistake down the back but regained his place as smooth as you like.
I wouldn’t mind a price for the 2020 Gold Cup, he certainly looks the partGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
December 3, 2018 at 23:23 #1387969Hopefully, Delta Work can complete the Presenting Percy double.
Bar a couple of last fence ricks his jumping has been very, very good. That is already the best staying chase form of the season and he can only improve for an extra half mile.
Santini beat nothing on his chasing debut and was very disappointing at last year’s Festival. It is perhaps worth noting he has only ever raced on soft or heavy. I don’t think he should be favourite.
December 4, 2018 at 18:33 #1388019“ very disappointing “ ?!
Good grief, StilviAnd I think you’ve under estimated that Newbury form
December 4, 2018 at 22:31 #1388037Don’t know why you would be shocked. He was a long-term, well supported favourite and never looked like winning at any stage. In my book that was very disappointing. Basically, he just plugged on into third. Early days but it doesn’t look like it was a vintage renewal.
As for the Newbury race the second was running on ground much softer than ideal and would be 50/1+ for an RSA, the third was a doubtful stayer, the fourth was 50/1, Mr Big Shot is fragile and jumped poorly throughout and most importantly the wheels came off the second favourite after the cross fence. The form is probably even worse than I first thought.
December 5, 2018 at 06:32 #1388048Theres no point picking holes in the form at this stage, it is irrelevant when assessing his credentials for this. People wanted to see him take to fences and jump them well, that’s what they saw. Presenting Percy did the same on debut last year beating a low 140’s chaser in workmanlike fashion. Might Bite couldn’t win a 3 runner class 4 non event debut at Ffos Las. Blaklion didn’t even place on his seasonal reappearance at Chepstow.
December 5, 2018 at 09:09 #1388055Stilvi, we are talking about a race where it always pays to have run plenty of times.
KS- 4 times, and also finished close at punchestown- not sure Next Destination is a bad horse? or Delta Work who you fancy?

His 3rd last year was in a proper slog on his 3rd run….I get that you’re trying to pick holes in a hot fav and you might as well- but not sure you’re 100% correct in what you’ve said..
He’s beaten a 144 horse 4Ls and a 142 horse 7 3/4 Ls on his chase debut..I guess you could double their ratings ever so slightly considering they have been running while top horses haven’t but it’s Santini’s debut.
