I went with Frodon with the 20’s, but if I could get bigger than 20’s NRNB for The Storyteller, I would almost certainly add him.
January 5, 2019 at 21:14 #1391546Do you not think The Storyteller has been found out? Do you think he’s gonna want good ground? Behind Shattered Love and Balko Des Flos over 2 and a half and ahead of them over 3; does that not point to him probably not having the turn of foot? Interesting to hear what you see in him
January 6, 2019 at 01:19 #1391555He’s a strange one to pin down Vautour, certainly based on what we’ve see this season.
Ground would be a concern, but not a major one for me, and I just think he’s one of those Elliot types who’ll show his true colours in the spring. Think he’s a slightly underrated horse, probably based on more bad runs than good. Wouldn’t surprise me to see him in The Gold Cup either, or even over hurdles, hence not backing him for this yet at 20’s.
January 7, 2019 at 13:34 #1391682Big price that Buckers, have taken a bit of 33s with Denise NRNB. If he turns up in the race he’ll be in half decent form and no 33s shot, if he doesn’t no harm done.
January 7, 2019 at 14:34 #1391693Monalee 14s with WillHill today for anyone not on yet.

January 7, 2019 at 14:58 #1391701All over Monalee for this
Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
January 7, 2019 at 16:20 #1391710Waiting Patiently has to be a huge player if he ends up coming here which sounds likely now.
January 8, 2019 at 09:38 #1391789What are people’s thoughts on the chances of Balko Des Flos going for this again?
January 8, 2019 at 10:04 #1391793I’d be against Balko Des Flos. Think the heavy sticky ground helped him last year. Based on the evidence of his runs in Ireland on good ground this year he should be nowhere near good enough; especially if Monalee and Waiting Patiently turn up.
January 8, 2019 at 10:45 #1391796I’m on Monalee at 14s big. And a bit at 25s from April last year!
An aggressive ride over 2m 4f is the perfect race for him and he will get that here I suspect.
January 8, 2019 at 11:05 #1391797Balko Des Flos is a hard one to weigh up. Previously connections etc. believed he needed better ground to show his best form + some of his runs back that up, however, his Ryanair run debunks that. Jockey did say after the win that he was able to keep him on the best ground for the whole race + that helped him perform as he did. So i wouldn’t fully agree with your view on BDF ground wise Vautour. But he’s tricky to weigh up so i can see your view.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 8, 2019 at 11:37 #1391799Yeah, fair enough; I hadn’t looked back at him beyond last years race. If he does like Good ground then that’s more reason to put me off based on his runs this season.
January 8, 2019 at 19:11 #1391835Terrefort at 20s nrnb appeals
January 16, 2019 at 01:29 #1392634I’m joining buckers and Kev on Coney Island at 33s EW NRNB with b365- as Kev says he won’t run here unless in good order. He does jump slightly to his right but not badly. Looked like he was fighting his pilot at the (slow) first few fences in the Savills Chase then settled and jumped reasonably well in the main before making a hash of the last.
January 17, 2019 at 01:21 #1392718According to the exchanges min doesn’t go Ryanair now. If it’s good ground and something like UDS setting a quick gallop I don’t know why they would change but this is Mullins
January 17, 2019 at 09:55 #1392722Fairly early to be following the exchanges for possible targets….
He’ll run over 2miles at DRF so i presume thats why hes uneasy for this.
I would say if he beats Footpad over 2miles then there’s no point in Footpad taking on Altior! Possibly both will go Ryanair? I know Mullins likes a horse in each race, but bar a fall, Altior won’t be beaten, so wouldn’t Mullin’s owners accept the fact they are racing against 2 others from their stable in the Ryanair? More chance of a win.
