Benvenuto Cellini. Now back on a more favoured surface.
June 28, 2026 at 10:08 #1770353Christmas Day owes me nothing, so I’ll go with him again at 4s, and a little ew on Pierre Bonnard as well, I think the course will suit better than Epsom.
June 28, 2026 at 11:45 #1770359Despite the bigger odds, James J Braddock catches my eye. Was third at Epsom and ground looks sure to suit (11/1).
June 28, 2026 at 12:33 #1770360James J Braddock also at WH boosted odds of 11.98/1

a token each way bet for a bit of interest. Looked okay LTO although that was a huge different class of race to this. Big step up in trip too. Hannon done well in the Derby with the Julie Wood horse so will know a little about this one in comparison.
I see the fav is out to 2/1… I have a bash if he goes 3’sGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
June 28, 2026 at 16:27 #1770367Signore Cellini for his looks alone!
Would like to see Action surprise with a place. Obvious stamina doubts but ground will be a lot more agreeable than Epsom.
June 28, 2026 at 16:38 #1770368Get in!
June 28, 2026 at 16:40 #1770369Well done Mike.

Absolutely no chance, ridden so hard from the stalls the jockey might as well have been battering him with the whip.June 28, 2026 at 16:42 #1770370Good race. The fav got his ground and showed his class
Nice to see Pierre Bonnard run a raceGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
June 28, 2026 at 16:47 #1770371Agree, Green, there are pacemakers and there are sacrificial lambs!

June 28, 2026 at 17:02 #1770373The winner was fresher than most of the others after having not run in the Derby.
The more I know the less I understand.
June 28, 2026 at 17:09 #1770374Nice one, RTB!
June 28, 2026 at 17:17 #1770375Good one RTB, well done winners and the Lads got the winner they badly wanted. Nice feat to win at Chantilly, Epsom and The Curragh.
That hind leg he rested last time out made all the difference.
June 29, 2026 at 00:06 #1770386Trainer great , horses v good but imho starting to get very boring . They are so far ahead it’s killing it .
I recorded the race , just before this race was the Turkish Derby , crowds looked absolutely jammed , all the way down to start , loads of different trainers , full field , well presented track and more prize money than Irish Derby . The Irish Derby just looked bleak . Only my impression from TV , and I’ve no doubt the field would have put lengths on the Turkish winner .
