Do you not reckon Mullins will be looking at the experienced Un De Sceaux to get it done in the Ryan Air? Cant see Ruby choosing Herc over UDS; even if UDS makes a mess next week..

TAPK, you’re smoking crack if you think Black Hercules is going to win anything this season. Had him for the JLT last year so I’ve a soft spot for him myself but he has been very very poor this season.

Might take a look at BDM but I’m happy enough with my 8/1 e/w on Djakadam in the betting without Thistlecrack market.

Saturnas and Monalee look like the best two Irish horses that are likely to turn up here and can both be got at 14/1. Finans Oscar too short at 4/1 at this stage.

MELON could be making his long awaited debut for Willie Mullins at Gowran next Thursday.

Where did you hear that? Hopefully he does; have a few pound on him to win any race at the festival

Looks like the Ryan Air for Sizing John now. Don’t blame his connections for wanting to get away from Douvan. Pity. I have him backed e/w in the Champion Chase without Douvan market. Ryan Air looking like a good race. Un De Sceaux into 7/2

Would a comment like that from Patrick Mullins move the exchange that much?

Annie Power on the drift, she is out to 8/1 with Betfair but only 5/2 for the Mares hurdle. Faugheen out to 14/1 for the stayers hurdle

It will be interesting to see if there is anything to it. It wouldn’t take much to move the exchange at this stage..

That tells a story. 8/1 for The Champion Hurdle and no contraction for the Mares implies there must be something wrong with her.

Absolutely no reason to suggest Annie wont make it. She has made the last 3 festivals so I don’t see why she’d miss this one. The question is over Faugheen and that will be answered in 2 weeks time.

Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle is on this Saturday in Punchestown. Willie always sends his Supreme horses to this. The last 3 winners of the race are Min, Douvan and Vautour.

    Mullins has the following entries;

    Pravalaguna
    Crack Mome
    Cilaos Emery
    Cadmium
    Bunk Off Early

My guess is one of these horses will be Willie’s number 1 runner for the Supreme. They wont all turn up on Saturday but I think whoever Ruby is on for this race might be worth a small e/w bet for The Supreme.

All of the above horses have only had once appearance this season and they have all won.

Mullins also likes to give his Supreme horses 2 runs before the festival. The market might start taking shape after this race on Saturday or then again Ruby might fall at the last again and its back to square 1.

On his ATR interview Ricci said the opposite. He said Willie wants then to face off but he himself doesn’t. Willie lets his horses face off all the time.

    Hurricane Fly v Faugheen
Faugheen v Nichols Canyon v Arctic Fire

It’s Ricci that doesn’t like his horses running against each other.

The fact is they are both really good horse, they are both 9 years old and they are capable of getting Willie and Ricci 2 wins at the festival and that’s what I think they will do.

What makes you think either Annie or Faugheen will be scratched? Both horses are “working well at home”, according to Willie.

Obviously Faugheen is just back from injury so they want to make sure he’s 100% before he gets his season under way.

    Annie never comes out before Xmas. The last time she was out before Xmas was 2013. Both will run before the festival. I predict one of the following will happen;

    Case 1
    Faugheen CH
    Annie MH
    Vroum Vroum WH

    Case 2
    Annie CH
    Vroum MH
    Faugheen WH

Faugheen has won over 3 miles in the past so will definitely get the trip. No Mare has ever won 2 Champion Hurdles so for Annie Power there is history to be made. The market seemed to be siding with case 1 but I reckon Case 2 is still a possibility.

Faugheen was entered in that 3 mile hurdle at Leopardstown (the one that Vroum Vroum Mag won) so that would make you think that maybe case 2 is the aim. He was pulled in the end because they thought he wasn’t quite ready.

The Irish Champion Hurdle is in 2 weeks at Loepardstown. Both have entries. If Faugheen gets the nod for that then its likely Annie will run in that same Mares race in February that she did last year and if that happens then case 1 is probably more likely.

Cant see any other combination than the 2 cases above. Willie has Un De Sceaux for the Ryan Air; maybe Black Hercules as well. He could also have Champagne Fever fit for it. He will want to win the Mares so you can expect Annie or Vroum Vroum to turn up there.

I’ve backed Saturnas for the Neptune at 20/1.

    Gold Cup Without Thistlecrack – Djakadam e/w @ 8/1
Champion Chase without Douvan – Sizing John @ 8/1

    Cracking each way double

Fair enough, Zarkava. I take your point. He was 6/1 before bursting the blood vessel so that’s definitely the biggest factor in his drift back 20s. Best of luck with it..

Ok, have read this thread from front to back and had a good think about it in the weekend and unfortunately I cant have Alpha Des Qbeaux.

He has won twice from 5 starts; hardly great form. He was beaten by Coney Island. Coney Island has since been beaten by Our Duke, who is 2/2 for the season. Coney Island was also beaten by Haymount, who in turn was trashed by Bellshill in Limerick. Also, bursting a blood vessel isn’t a great sign. if it happens once it can happen again and The RSA is a tough Novice Chase

I think this will be a three horse race between Bellshill (who looks the best but doesn’t have festival form), Our Duke (who like I said is 2/2 and had beaten Coney Island) and Whisper (who looks the best of the English). As a patriotic Irishman ;-) I wont back Whisper and will hang my hat on Bellshill or Our Duke. Also think that Whisper likes a bit of cut in the ground which he’s unlikely to get in March
