I can vouch for Stilvi’s bet Judge
Rocky, totally agree about that Maiden Hurdle. Monalee going to be a good one, but in behind, The Storyteller, and Glenloe. Two horses who look like just the types I like to follow. Maybe not for this, but in time, Coral Cup or Pertemps horses.
ok but can we stop with the shameless aftertiming please? I see this all the time on this forum, where people boast about the huge prices they’ve taken.
funny how quiet all these people were BEFORE sandown.
Odd why it bothers you so much. I have FO at 16s for the Neptune. Happy to put a screenshot up if someone tells me how. I also have a completely wasted bet on Robin Roe if it makes you feel better?
January 10, 2017 at 00:37 #1281165Took 16’s before the race on Finians Oscar – into 5’s now. Pretty happy with that
Done the same myself, took the 16s for the Neptune and the 20s for the supreme before the race. Wasn’t 100% what his target will be – Tizzard said as much after the race also (but i’d imagine the Neptune).
horrible

Grow up. Its a discussion about a race at cheltenham. He runs again before cheltenham. If he flops our tickets are useless and weve already exposed oursves if thats all u think of these posters as after timers. Happy also to show a screenshot via PM of the odds taken before said race. We dont run to the forum every time we have a bet. However later if we have had one, we are allowed to mention it.
January 10, 2017 at 06:36 #1281170I backed finians Oscar before the race at 16-1 for the Neptune and immediately afterwards as bet 365 held 14-1 for a short while.. sorry for not logging in here and saying so 1st
however overall my ante=post book is a shambles with vautour
, yorkhill arkle
, blow by blow any race
, invitation only any race
, alpha des obeux any race
hoping my druids nephew ULTIMA and heartbreak city COUNTY can pull me through
January 10, 2017 at 08:49 #1281178Actually amazing the amount of aftertiming on this forum, it seems everyone is on the now clear favourite for the race at big prices, without anyone actually bothering to mention backing it for the Neptune before it ran at Sandown.
Funny that!
So?

This is fair enough but, then, so is his main point ( if presented a little childishly )
Do you not think it a little strange that so very few mentioned backing Finian’s Oscar prior to his contraction in the market ? It made sense, considering his price for the Tolworth, but there’s not a single mention of him in this thread prior to the result.
January 10, 2017 at 09:32 #1281184I’ve backed Saturnas for the Neptune at 20/1.

Exactly. That’s exactly my point. Actually one of the aftertimers admits to backing robin roe, presumably if that horse had won at Newbury all the same people would have been running on here and telling us how they had backed it at big prices, without any mention before Newbury of having backed it.

If people want to make up bets to look great, who the hell else cares?
I for one have not backed Finian’s Oscar. I have £6 on Invitation Only at 14/1 and £6 on Mount Mews at 130 + 140. Not a race I’ve considered properly yet.
January 10, 2017 at 12:17 #1281212
Hopefully that works.
Wasn’t sure what he was aimed at so also had 2 doubles on the tolworth/AB and tolworth/Neptune.
Be annoyed if he ends up in the supreme !
January 10, 2017 at 14:11 #1281241Congrats
I don’t think people are lying about backing it, just that why even mention you have backed it at big prices at all?
Just to feed your own egos or…..
fair enough if you mention that you mention it before it ran in the tolworth, so we can all get involved.
January 10, 2017 at 14:13 #1281243I’ve backed Saturnas for the Neptune at 20/1.
this is the kind of post i like, guy isn’t mentioning it after it’s being clipped into 5-1.
January 10, 2017 at 14:29 #1281245Congrats

I didn’t mention it until you did…
Relax, when it’s announced for the Supreme I’ll be sure to come back and remind you I wasted my dough
January 10, 2017 at 14:40 #1281249LOL
January 10, 2017 at 14:44 #1281252I don’t see why people have to be so unnecessarily sceptical. It is perfectly common practice to back a horse for Cheltenham in Jan or Feb before a run at a price like 13/8. Finians Oscar is the perfect great example. I am one of the people that posted after the Tolworth that I backed Finian’s Oscar @ 16’s for the Neptune (which is incorrect, I actually got 14’s and now I am livid
). I didn’t say beforehand because had he lost its not relevant to anyone on here, its just another losing bet and I am sure we all have plenty of them. Happy to share a pic of bet slip should anyone want itJanuary 10, 2017 at 14:50 #1281253I can vouch for Stilvi’s bet Judge

Thanks VTC, but you shouldn’t have bothered.
Fine for someone to take a pot shot if they want to but it is a little bit peculiar when there is no supportive evidence whatsoever.
Just for the record. All my ante-posts bets (bar the most recent one) are on the appropriate thread. I flagged up the likes of Finian’s Oscar on VTC’s thread and Brain Power on race thread after Ascot.
People can post their bets if and when they like. Beating the price is only a stage in the process, and it should be remembered that if said horse wins, £10 at 10/1 will give you the same result as £20 at 5/1.
I quoted the 25/1 purely because I was giving a view on where the horse was likely to run. Giving an opinion like that I think it is important to disclose a financial involvement.
This isn’t a tipping service. Judge, perhaps instead of wasting energy taking unfounded pops perhaps you can direct your attentions to trying to pick some winners yourself? I think it is much more enjoyable to make up your mind rather than expecting someone to give you freebies.

No you’re right it’s not, just the amount of aftertiming on this forum has been getting a bit sickening of late. I know there’s an aftertimers thread of the betfair forum, maybe we need a similar one on here.
Anyway I’ll shut up about it now, so people can get back to discussing the race.
January 10, 2017 at 16:05 #1281275I imagine that the overall point is that we should help each other and perhaps would of been nice for someone to say before the tolworth that it may be worth back in finians for the Neptune at 16/1 prior to the race
