A “racing certainty” is a good way of putting it
But regardless of all that the original question was doe he have a better chNce at this stage of 4/9 NRNB and the simple answer is yes IMO
Would you get involved MoM at the above price and condition?
January 24, 2019 at 11:21 #1393427I would. And I have.
I keep doubling him up with others NRNB.
He’s going to be going off in a 5 or 6 runner race. Most of the horses he’s beat already. Of the main two in the market behind him, one of the two won’t even run. And I maintain he beats Footpad every day of the week. And we know he beats Min anyway. On countless occasions.
For me Altior is a decent bet for multiples at 4/9 and 2/5 NRNB because at the very minimum, I see him going off 3/10 but possible as short as 1/4.
I’m on Fox Norton NRNB 33s e/w so I hope he goes here and it’s a small field but it sounds like he’s Ryanair bound as the Champ has scared him off.

Even my 3 year old son can count to 2
March 12, 2019 at 19:06 #1401521Altior is head and shoulders above the field, but Min is also at least “shoulders” ahead of the rest too. In those circumstances – as long as Ruby doesn’t get in to a protracted battle too early – 9/2 Min is imo a fair each way bet at 1/4 odds first 3 with Bet365. ie Small profit if placed with a virtually free win bet. Even though bigger prices are available for win only purposes I feel 9/2 each way is the better bet, especially with Mullins in tremendous form.
Also taken Gods Own in the betting without market. Gone well in this race before and despite his age there’s no sign of age catching up with him yet. Stable in good form too. As long as it doesn’t go genuinely heavy he should cope with the ground (times today prove it’s better than the official). I have his chance as being just slightly less than Sceau Royal‘s, and that one’s less than half Gods Own’s current odds. Had some 19/1 matched overnight but 14/1 is still excellent value imo.
Value Is EverythingMarch 12, 2019 at 20:43 #1401545Only possible angle into the race for me is min without the fav
Was some 2/1 about on hills a week or two ago, but Mr Walsh falling off benie killed all but 2 of my multis with that in
Skybet have it 10/11 which still looks a good price for multis
March 12, 2019 at 22:15 #1401571A similar but different angle; I think Politologue looks overpriced at 8/1 w/o Altior. Especially if Min is taking Altior on and Politologue is ridden for a place. I’m not sure on what form Sceau Royal is a shorter price. Do it EW and the Nicholls horse only has to come 4th for a 30% ROI.
Or you could just back Altior!
March 13, 2019 at 09:03 #1401644I have very kindly been given a £50 free bet on the champion chase by bet365.
I’d expect Altior to win and it isnt a race I would have had a bet in but as I have nothing at all to lose and it’s a free bet I have gone 50 win on Saint Calvados at 40/1.
If this is 1 race too many in the career of Altior then the Saint may have a chance.
March 13, 2019 at 09:13 #1401647I’m on Altior to a few quid at 7/4 from a year ago plus a bit at evens and along with a few multiples
Gods Own looks a decent price out of the rest to me to out run his odds. going, course, travels well at a good clipGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
March 13, 2019 at 09:19 #1401653Reckon Min wins this today. Altior has to be beaten at some stage
March 13, 2019 at 09:20 #1401654I had Altior in een double with Buveur d’Air for this, but that bet is obviously gone. Ended up with two small bets. Castlegrace Paddy without Altior 12/1 EW and Politologue at 25/1 EW. Just gonna enjoy Altior here.
March 13, 2019 at 12:13 #1401705Obviously barring a fall Altior wins this, he’s in a different class. I’m just glad
Castlegrace Paddy lines up here, most of my Cheltenham ante posts went awol.
I stuck him up at 50/1 in here back in January, just before he departed at the 1st
in the Dublin Chase at Leopardstown. Hopefully he’ll get further this time, I think
he has a very decent chance of a place, and even at the present 28/1 I think that’s
still a bit of value.March 13, 2019 at 15:37 #1401761Never in doubt

March 13, 2019 at 15:38 #1401762Another cracking race with decent yardsticks coming 2nd and 3rd.
Hope that poor God’s Own will be okay.March 13, 2019 at 15:39 #1401763Footpad ?, Richard Hoiles what ?
March 13, 2019 at 15:41 #1401764WD Altior, he had to work for that (and had to battle a bit for the Tingle Creek). Did well to keep himself together and get going quickly after the mistake. He’s got it all.
Great to see Politologue travelling and jumping well again too.March 13, 2019 at 15:43 #1401765Always thought sceau royal was a danger…. altior toonstrong up the hill
March 13, 2019 at 15:43 #1401767Altior

Once again powered up the hill when needed. I cannot wait to see him over further.
