Irish Retired Greyhound Trust (IRGT) is pleased to announce the start of its collaboration with 1xBet. This marks an important step forward for the organisation: for the first time, IRGT is launching a dedicated ambassador programme. The partnership will help strengthen volunteer support and spread the word more widely about greyhounds as wonderful family pets.

The IRGT’s new ambassador programme will help continue the tremendous work that volunteers are already doing across the country. They regularly take part in Meet & Greet events at greyhound racing stadiums throughout Ireland. These events give people the chance to get up close with retired dogs, learn about their calm and friendly nature, and see for themselves that greyhounds make wonderful pets.
With 1xBet’s support, the programme will gain fresh momentum and a clearer structure. This will help build a strong and recognisable network of IRGT ambassadors and their greyhounds. Volunteers will continue to play a vital role – engaging with racegoers, taking part in events, and raising awareness of the importance of helping greyhounds find new families.
The collaboration also includes the launch of a new visual identity for the ambassador programme. A co-branded kit will be provided for volunteers and their dogs, and the initiative will have greater opportunities to represent IRGT’s work at major greyhound racing events throughout 2026.

All greyhounds rehomed by IRGT are vaccinated, microchipped, neutered or spayed, and fully prepared for life in a new home. The organisation supports future owners at every stage, helping to make the transition from a racing career to family life as smooth as possible for the dog.
