Has anyone heard anything about Battleoverdoyen? His run was too bad to be true. I assume something will come to light.

The under 10 age stat trend updated for another year…

As does the stat about horses not having run over a fence during the season

Profitable for me too. 6 winners. Disappointed that Commander of Fleet didn’t win. I would have had £1500 if he had won. Never mind. I look forward to next year’s festival.

Jack – I really have to disagree with your position. The facts are Rich Ricci was the Executive Chairman of Betbright and in this role his is accountable (not solely responsible but he is the person to be held most to account) for the financial affairs, corporate reputation, compliance and is responsible for the overall running of the company.

The liabilities they have are real liabilities. Can you imagine taking a loan from a bank on which interest is chargeable and then saying to the bank: we’re going to cancel the loan and only pay to back the principal i.e. no interest. Are you telling me this would be acceptable to the bank? No way, and neither should it be to the punter. Now I accept the situation is not exactly the same (there might not be any interest to be paid with bets) but that is what they are in essence saying.

What he owns in the company is less important because of separate legal personality. He needs to revise his position and quickly. I also agree with the point about him not being able to hold dual roles as a Executive Chairman of a bookmakers and owner of a racehorse(s). The is a unacceptable conflict of interest.

One last point, as to his murky past – I don’t think that’s in dispute. He was part of the leadership team at Barclays which was fined £450m for the rigging of Libor rates amongst other things.

Potato – I genuinely wish your horse all the best of luck. The day of reckoning is almost here. I, like you, are loyal to my horse to the end – we’re just on different horses. I believe we will see a demolition job by Might Bite. But if I’m wrong and Might Bite has not recovered from his troubles then I would like nothing more that to see Elegant Escape romp home. Good luck.

Delighted to have had two winners today: Le Breuil and Beware the Bear. Good old Jamie Codd – experience made the difference in the finish. They’re not the horses I was banking on but a win is a win and I’ll take it.

No where near on anything else. Gordon Elliot must be disappointed with today just like last year.

The starter tried his best to ruin the first few races.

Well done to all the winners today and good luck to everyone for tomorrow

Hi DBRDBR – where do you see that? On the Racing Post website I can’t see Ruby named as being jocked up on Klassical Dream. Thanks.

Do the final declarations for Tuesday come out at 10am today? As a result, should this be the end of the surprises for Tuesday? i.e. should for example Defi Du Seuil be declared for the Arkle does that mean he will run?

All – Thanks for your tips. I placed five bets as doubles and won on four of the 5 bets. Winners were:
    1) Divine Image
    2) Blue Point
    3) Old Persian
    4) Dream Castle
The only bet that didn’t come in was Thunder Snow

    @Triptych

There is wi-if at the track but it was so temperamental that no sooner had we connected we were then disconnected. The only was of placing a bet using a UK account was to turn in our data roaming -which as you say costs a sheikh’s ransom.

One observation, you may also find useful: all the expats were to be found in the restaurants. Only locals were in the basic grandstand.

I hope you have a fabulous time there. Thanks once again for the tips. We had a great time.

I assume the new rule only relates to the 48 hour declarations, or is that 24 hours?

Just seen the comments from Kim Bailey explaining why Vinndication doesn’t run and I have to say: I’m not sure he’s being transparent as he should. My suspicion is that Vinndication didn’t handle going left handed and that this came to light during his preparatory gallop at Newbury. He hasn’t raced at a left handed track and it can’t be any coincidence that Bailey is now talking about Punchestown which, as you all know, is a right handed track.

@Triptych We have one night there and I would love to know if you are putting any bets on in the UK via the Internet as I believe it is dependant on being logged in to WiFi at the racecourse or hotel, without that I think you would need a Sheikh’s ransom.

I am able to place bets (I only use William Hill) using the app, when logged into the Hotel Wi-fi and have been doing so for the Cheltenham Festival. We’re staying at a different hotel near The Palm. I can see races available to bet on from Meydan both today’s races and the ante post Dubai Festival.

I will drop you a note after Super Saturday to let you know how’s it works when on site.

Thanks for the tips and I hope you have a fabulous trip too. How very exciting.

If Tiger Roll comes in, which I so hope he does, the bookies will be running for cover. I agree, it would be a massively popular win not just because the entire crowd will be on him. It has to be one of the bookies biggest losers of the week. Come on Tiger….
