January 8, 2018 at 13:48 #1336438Aaaaw FFS not this again N, lol. Did this no cost me a few quid a couple of years ago???

January 8, 2018 at 13:56 #1336439great to have you on board again VTC hope you had a good new year/christmas
January 8, 2018 at 14:28 #1336443I played last week N and backed all Sheik Hamdams, the blue caps, the black and the white caps and his sons horses in each race and they all lost.
Can’t get any worse than that so I’ll have another go this week.
Glutton for punishment me, LOL Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...January 8, 2018 at 14:48 #1336447Banker – Thunder Snow in the 4th and look out for little Yattwee and old fav of mine at Newmarket.
Some of the horses, like Linguistic appear in more than one race at this stage but expect they will sort themselves out by Thursday.Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...January 8, 2018 at 15:10 #1336453Yeah N, always happy to give this a go. Christmas and New Year was good, but worked a lot of it. Hope you had a good one too.
No time to look at decs just now, but hope Belgian Bill is there, he must be a certainty etc etc
January 8, 2018 at 15:21 #1336458welcome aboard Jac, Agree with Thunder Snow, have a soft spot for Bravo Zolo (think he did a few of us a favour last year) in Yattew’s race although he is double entered, also in race three.
January 8, 2018 at 15:31 #1336461No sign of BB this week VTC
January 8, 2018 at 15:34 #1336462Here’s hoping Thunder Snow puts in a good performance. I put him up at 25/1 in the ante-post comp for the World Cup. I gather that’s the plan and he did do very well at this venue last year.
January 8, 2018 at 15:50 #1336469good luck charles
January 8, 2018 at 23:06 #1336552That’s a good bet on Thunder Snow Charles
a winning run here will see him strip for for for the World Cup and he won on the dirt this time last year.Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...January 9, 2018 at 00:40 #1336567Thunder Snow is 11/8 for Thursday’s race on the early show. North America is next best at 5/2.
North America improved well last spring, rising up the ratings, however he ran badly when favourite for a group 2 in March and wasn’t seen again, so I assume he had a problem.
Heavy Metal was useful for Mark Johnston but lost his way for some time before coming good out of the blue at the age of 7 to win a Group 3 by more than six lengths at Meydan last March. Funnily enough, he also ran poorly in the same race North American did after that. North America got the better of Heavy Metal at least twice last season but whereas that horse has not run again, Heavy Metal came out just before Christmas to prove his well being with a good looking, cosy success in Listed company.
Thunder Snow might just be a bit skinny for me and given the recent win I would probably have said Heavy Metal at 9/2 appealed more to me with North American off the track for so long.
Each-way 9/2 at a 1/5th odds sees you lose very little for a place.
You know me though, all or nothing at those odds. The greed of the pig prevails. Heavy Metal on the snout!!
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
January 9, 2018 at 07:14 #1336578good stuff steve look forward to your input
January 9, 2018 at 08:58 #1336582looks like they have changed the card around slightly Thunder Snow now race 5 and the turf sprint Ertijaal (IRE) is now race 2.Be careful as Ertijaal (USA) goes in race 3
January 9, 2018 at 09:04 #1336583I noticed in the sprint Waady (ex John Gosden) is now with Doug Watson
January 9, 2018 at 10:00 #1336585I’m glad there’s plenty of interest on the forum for the carnival. I’ll have a gander tonight and put in my two pennies worth.
I’ve not heard the new commentator, I hope he fits in well. It will be strange not hearing the great Terry Spargo this time round.
January 9, 2018 at 11:49 #1336603look forward to your input chivers
just been looking at the G3 (race 4) was quite taken by Light The Lights at times last season at the carnival, the draw 15/15 is a bit off putting though, be interesting to see if Benbatl can go on from last season.
Sharpalo has not done a lot wrong since returning to turf and although another drawn in double digits maybe of interest to some - AuthorPosts
