Nice american “investment banker/CEO” accent. Must have had two very tough weeks and surely couldn’t believe history repeating itself again.
But isn’t this the time of the day when you have all lot of fallers on day one at this very last obstacle. The horse was clearly blinded by the sun after having jumped perfectly throughout the race.
It’s nice that she got up, but RR already said this about 10 times in his 90 seconds interview.
Good luck to her!March 12, 2019 at 16:25 #1401461Shouldn’t be allowed to own horses imo

March 12, 2019 at 16:26 #1401462Understandably dejected rather than “bitter”.

I’ve never been a Ricci fan, ever since Annie Power and Vautour were kept apart. And he didn’t cover himself in glory in that interview.
March 12, 2019 at 16:30 #1401464Dejected maybe about Bennie, but overall I think he’s getting some unpleasant mails throughout the entire year. He might not be that popular in the gambling world and maybe the shouts he got today at Cheltenham were pretty insulting ones as well.
March 12, 2019 at 16:38 #1401466What do you expect him to say when he has a microphone shoved in his face moments after seeing history repeat itself?
Probably still a bit stunned and hadn’t really had the time to digest events, even more so especially given that she jumped the hurdle perfectly like she did everything else in the race so understandable his main thoughts will be relief that she appears uninjured especially considering the type of fall it was (much like Faugheen’s at Leopardstown & Annie Power’s in this race a few years back – unlucky that she fell but lucky she lives to fight another day).

Not his best day at the Festival. Limini bursting blood vessels, Sharjah brought down by the reigning champ and Bennie des Dieux throwing the race away. And this with just three runners on the day.
March 12, 2019 at 19:28 #1401527Not Ricci the one who “sounds a bit bitter”.
You couldn’t have had Ricci losing today without a horse falling – and in the process nearly breaking its neck when rolling over. If you’re not careful people will begin to think some TRFers are glad a horse falls.
Capitalists are the ones buying and running horses for us to enjoy. Without them there’d be no Cheltenham Festival because nobody could afford to buy good horses and/or pay training fees.
Value Is EverythingMarch 12, 2019 at 19:42 #1401529I think most people are not happy the horse fell Ginge but I think A LOT of people were happy to see him squirm!!
His or rather his company haven’t affected me directly but once again he has shown himself to be self centred and me me me and have no consideration for mere mortals.
March 12, 2019 at 19:45 #1401530Horses fall, that’s a reality, especially when their jockeys ask for an unnecessary big one.
Not all horse owners are welchers.
March 12, 2019 at 19:47 #1401531Good post ginger although shouldn’t need pointing out
March 12, 2019 at 19:50 #1401533Must admit who ever took that decision over those ante post bets was clueless. Didn’t see the interview and I’m often no fan of the connections but he’s allowed a heat of moment. It’s an emotional sport
March 12, 2019 at 19:52 #1401534In this case you wouldn’t have had Ricci “squirm” without a horse falling, Raymo.
How is he self centred by being dejected after seeing his horse fall?
Any owner would feel the same.Value Is EverythingMarch 12, 2019 at 21:02 #1401555Ive heard it said in a few places that Racing TV gave Ricci a free pass but not sure why people can’t seperate the kick in the teeth of owning a last hurdle faller at the festival and being a poor bookmaker. Was the immediate post race really the moment to call him out for weaseling away from honouring bets of the company ? Fair play to him for going on TV even if he was rambling vacantly
March 12, 2019 at 21:13 #1401559The left wing trot-skyists have a blinkered view, Rollo; they can’t see the whole picture.

Well in this case he can’t afford to honour ante post bets so the bailiffs should be bought in and his horses sold to pay off any debt owing.
