First Assignment 16/1
Won handicaps nicely twice at the start of the season, both at Cheltenham, then ran a week later and came second to Paisley Park beaten 1.5L. Half a length in front of him was Shades of midnight who won the Grade 2 Rendlesham hurdle last week.
Didn’t get raised for that effort and was a good third in his qualifier, shaping like the winner for most of the race. I’ve had a good swing at this one and think he’s a cracking price.March 3, 2019 at 22:50 #1399651A Toi Phil very popular for this tonight. I really want to bet him wherever he ends up next week, been watching him all season, and he’s got “plot” written all over him. With that in mind, laid off a bit of Sire Du Berlais at just over 7’s to go Green, as I really can see me going in again with something else on top of the others.
It’s All Guesswork, and Aspen Colorado in particular catching my eye, but with the former having so many bloody entries, I’ll hold fire.
A Toi Phil 20’s NRNB
Sire Du Berlais 50’s EW
Wait For Me 33’s EWMarch 7, 2019 at 15:47 #1400085I’ve went with Thermistocles here at 16-1 each way, I thought he would be near the head of the market by now
March 13, 2019 at 22:58 #1401851I’ve gone for Champers on Ice 14/1 EW and Wait for Me 40/1 EW. Always been a fan of Champers on Ice and he has dropped to a nice mark. Wil go on the ground, distance is not a problem and ran some decent races at Cheltenham and this race have been the plan for this season. Wait for Me also has a decent record around Cheltenham. Last year he finished 10th in this race, 15 lenghts behind Delta Work. I think he can hit the frame of a 6 pound lower mark.
March 13, 2019 at 23:06 #1401861Hard to get away from first assignement
That form behind paisley park and shades of midnight looks superb given what they have done since
March 14, 2019 at 09:14 #1401891Am on FIRST ASSIGNMENT at 12/1 and a horse I think may be the plot here!!
ASPEN COLORADO at 50/1 . JP bought it from Tabor. Won two tinpot races then surprise surprise ran fifth in a qualifier then ran bad and they have done his wind and he gets in here off 134 with Jonjo’s boy up!! mmm Methinks a plot here and I have had 50/1 six places and I think it may get shorter.
All it has to do is win now LOL
March 14, 2019 at 11:48 #1401936Not quite as keen on Wait For Me or A Toi Phil now, and if I could lay them off I would, but thankfully the position with Sire Du Berlais, has made this a very green race for me.
I bet Aspen Colorado the other day at 40’s, and he’s been a notebook horse for a while now. I’m surprised the price is holding, and I’ve added him ew six places. He’d be up there with Sire Du Berlais for me.

Fingers crossed
March 14, 2019 at 13:59 #1401974I was christened in Claines church and this trainer trains in claines so will throw a dart at ABOLITIONIST at 18/1 and hope to be lucky.
March 14, 2019 at 14:03 #1401977I was going to add Cuneo, but I will add Thermistocles to my main hope First Assignment. I hope I don’t live to regret it.
