Windsor Avenue 25/1. Won his first 2 chases by half the track and the horses he beat have won since. Running in a Grade 2 at Doncaster on Saturday against Sam Spinner. You would imagine the market will take notice when (if) he spanks Sam

He also won the race with Uxizandre. I agree though that I think Defi will come here after winning The Tingle Creek
You know what they say about If the Cap Fits?
Wear it

Chacun Pour Soi is ready to go at Xmas. Had a Gallop at Punchestown yesterday after racing; Ruby was riding him. I’d say you’ll see him at the Paddy’s Rewards race at Leopardstown. Worth noting that Cilaos Emery has the best Irish form now after beating BallyOisin at Cork yesterday. Hardline got close enough to Min and BallyOisin was way too good for Hardline when they last met; I know that Hardline may have needed the run but still; you’d have to say that Cilaos Emery is the top Irish horse for this race so far. We’ll wait and see what Chacun Pour Soi can do.
I disagree with that. Kemboy is a very keen horse for a 3 miler. You could see David was trying to settle him and get him some cover coming up to the first fence in the Gold Cup and the horse was having none of it and was puling like mad. It was the fact he was pulling that caused the mistake at the first. Kemboy likes a strong pace and the quicker they go the better for him.
Kemboy has improved into a proper 170+ chaser, no doubt about that. The only thing that could hamper him is the trip and if he will stay the last 2 and a half furlongs and you dont know that until you try. Also, he hasn’t been great at Cheltenham in the past but he has improved a lot since the Ballymore and JLT runs. Hopefully we find out this year.
Is this the kind of race front runners tend to win? Would he settle?
Yeah, you need to see how they get on in graded company, I suppose. Mullins definite 2 milers novice chasers so far are Royal Rendezvous, Cashback and Tornado Flyer; the only out and out stayer is Carefully Selected and then the inbetweeners are Laurina, Salsaretta, Melon and Faugheen. Not a bad crop so far.. Stormey Ireland, Breaken, Coquin Mans, Allaho & Next Destination still to jump a fence also.
Jack1092, Chacun Pour Soi.
Very early in the season to be talking about Mullins runners. Mullins best Novice last season didn’t appear until March; he’s never in a rush to get his best horses out. I would say Mullins has a potentially fantastic novice Chase team this season across all distances; as of the end of November so far we have seen winning debuts from Laurina, Faugheen, Stormy Ireland (all be it over hurdles), Carefully Selected, Salsaretta, Cash Back, Tornado Flyer and Royal Rendezvous. Melon was a close 2nd conceding 8 lbs to a horse who has won a grade 1 since. There’ll be more out for beginners Chases between now and Xmas also.
As far as 2 milers go I think Cash Back looked very good. It’s too early to be thinking about festival targets but I’d like to see Laurina in the Xmas Grade 1 over 2 mile 1 at Leopardstown.
Tornado Flyer struggled to win his beginners Chase and the horse he beat by half a lenght, Choungaya, has since been stuffed by Salsaretta and Galvin so Tornado Flyer needs a lot of improvement if he’s going to be a Grade 1 horse.
Saldier not entered for Leopardstown at Xmas. Something wrong there. I’d say. Even if WPM wanted to head to Kempton with him to take advantage of the BD injury, he’d still give Saldier the option of Leopardstown.
Are you going to tell us what it is?
Fakir getting 8 lb at the moment will have to give Laurina 7lb on the day. Lovely jumper and all but such a pity Samcro fell. Samcro was travelling strongly but the fences slowed Samcro down relative to Fakir, who was jumping like a rabbit so it would have been very interesting to see who would have won that race. Wouldn’t be put off Samcro for JLT either. Probably a bit short to be getting stuck in now and his jumping will need to improve.
5/2 favourite Envoi Allen. Had him at 6s and just cashed it in. Couldn’t be arsed waiting to see what race he’s going to go for although I do believe it will be this. No point backing the fav in the Supreme as all the bookies will have great deals. Still have Unexcepted at 20/1 each way. Happy with that for now.
Think Saldier is the right favourite the so far. Form with Espoir Dallen and beat the best of the Irish on his first run. Will be interesting to see if Couer Sublime goes for the RyanAir Hurdle at Xmas. He looks the other obvious contender
Did anyone see Carefully Selected today? Seemed to be going well and then made a terrible mistake and almost unseated Townend and then he came back to win well. 25/1 seems a decent price
Yorkhill is by the same Sire as Denman so that’s something, I suppose..

Really can’t see Yorky doing anything here; hes off his head.
Benie Des Dieux not declared and Townend has picked the race fit Bacardys over the horse he won the Albert Bartlett and Stayers Hurdle on, Penhill.
I’m on Penhill here at 16’s each way from a few weeks back with 3 places
Still a fascinating race; hopefully Penhill can do it but I have a feeling it will be between Bacardys and Honeysuckle
