JP will have a big say indirectly. Gordon wont want Andy Dufresne and Envoi Allen taking each other on. JP has Blue Sari, Unexcepted and Andy Dufresne plus whoever he has with Nicky Henderson. You woyuld think that Blue Sari and Unexcepted are probably more Supreme horses meaiing Andy Dufresne will be Ballymore bound meaning Envoi Allen will end up in the Supreme. Lots can happen between now and then of course
Yeah; but what happens when he beats Abracadabras over 2 miles?
Ah, I see
Dlauro runs in a Maiden Hurdle tomorrow at Punchestown. Be very interesting to see if he can back up his price tag.
Why not? His hurdle run from last year was in France so he is still considered a Novice in Britain and Ireland.
Cash Back ran really well in his Beginners Chase at Navan; he also rates Tornado Flyer fairly high as well although his Beginners Chase win was a bit laboured.
Watched the Laurina race back again; she was very impressive. Even if the trip was too short for Minella Indo, she still made it look very easy. Townend barely moved on her at all. The big question is will she come here or The JLT. Judging by the interview with Mullins after the race he said Townend thinks she needs 2 and a half. I have her at 14/1 for this and I reckon I’ll just cash it in now; can double my money with it; don’t fancy spending the next 3 months thinking about where she might go.
It did take Minella Indo a while to warm up last season as well.
The softer the better for Minella Indo although he’d probably prefer longer than 2 and a half. Could be looking at the Arkle Winner vs the RSA winner
Don’t think BDM will come here at all. He’s been here and hasn’t performed; he really has flopped at Kempton spectacularly following a dominant Betfair Chase performance. He’s best when he’s fresh. I think he’ll have 1 run between Haydock and Cheltenham but it wont be this; think they’ll target a race they can win and then head to Cheltenham nice and fresh
BDM showed last year that the ground didn’t matter; he just loves Haydock. Going to have my biggest bet of the year on BDM to win this. Think 6/5 is a great price for the King of Haydock. Lost in Translation may well be the higher rated Chaser come the end of the season; but this is Haydock and BDM doesn’t lose here. If you are a Lost In Translation fan he he comes up short this weekend I wouldn’t be too disappointed; however if he managed to topple the King of Haydock then he’ll be a worthy Gold Cup favourite.
I’d say Footpad will be coming here. Jumped really well yesterday. Think Mullins will be sending 2 to this; Footpad and Real Steel. Will be interesting to see how Cyrname does against Altior. If pushed to have a bet now I think I’d be backing Cyrname but I’ll have a better idea next week. Don’t really see the need to be rushing into an Ante-Post selection here. At the moment it is shaping up to be a nice race with hopefully a bit of depth. I doubt Douvan will be coming here; they seemed to suggest he’ll be moving back in trip if he moves anywhere.
Pity she’s out; always like to see the best Novices get a clear run. Lamerckise is 6/1 favourite now and she hasn’t even run yet. Hopefully she’s as good as they think she is. If she hoses up at the weekend you’d imagine she’ll contract more. Then again if she gets stuffed she’ll drift
Asterion Forlonge declared for the Bumper tomorrow at Thurles. Cost £290,000 at the sales in February 2018 and was kept back last season due to the ground. 5 rising 6 now so you’d imagine he will go Hurdling after the Bumper tomorrow; owned by the Donnelly’s (Same owners as Melon & Al Boum Photo).
She has entries in Thurles and Gowran; nice little Mares beginners Chase in Thurles but ground is currently Yielding there; he’d probably prefer Soft for her first time out so she might go to Gowran against Geldings on Saturday.
Jon Snow has a long way to go to get up to the level of Envoi Allen based on his first run. Although Mullins said he hoped he’d be a grade 1 horse the fact he was 33/1 in the Supreme market before he ran tells you that he wasn’t going to be the typical Mullins Supreme favorite. Long before Melon or Min debuted they were getting hammered on the exchanges based on hype and what Vautour and Douvan did..
Malone Road is now out for the season. Now convinced Envoi Allen is coming here and 6/1 is a good price. If he wins the Royal Bond and then wins at Xmas and the Dublin Racing festival then he could be 7/4 on the day although the bookies will have good deals to take him on. Ruby said a few years back that you don’t necessarily need gears to win a Supreme; you need to have a strong gallop, be a good jumper and a strong stayer. They go off like the clappers in the Supreme and you have to stay to get up the hill after a relentless gallop. Horses with gears are more suited by the Ballymore because they go slower for the first full circuit and then the race opens up for horses with gears.
Agree with FinalFurlong91. Notebook was electric over fences and 25/1 is way too big. Have added Notebook to my Laurina 14/1.
