Wow what a privilege to see that. I think Earl’s Brig and Peaty Sandy used to have some battles if memory serves me well. I was at Kelso when I saw I big bay horse in a bumper who I thought would make a nice chaser. His name was Jodami and of course he bolted up!

That was one of my worst days following racing. Those poor owners and stable staff, the horse jumped for fun and had the time of his life then mid-interview while celebrating a fantastic win the owner is told his horse has collapsed and we know what that means.
A seven year old with his best days ahead but all we can ask for is to go out doing something we love and he did. So sad.

I was surprised Tiber Flow coming down wasn’t a big story. i could’ve got this completely wrong but without seeing a headon it looked like Shouldvebeenaring’s jockey (Levey?) took his ground and i was expecting to see a ban for careless riding .

Many thanks, it’s amazing what sticks in the memory that you don’t have to Google.

I followed him all last season and thought he’d have a big year but he disappointed at Newbury then ran poorly in the Welsh but i hadn’t written him off. So sad to hear he won’t get the chance to fulfil his potential. I’d be very surprised if i was right and Paul Nicholls was wrong but firstly he ran him on ground he knew he wouldn’t like then over a trip i would never have considered for him, not that either contributed to his death. Must be awful for the owners and staff.

I’m less than an hour from Carlisle on the west coast.

    Ok thanks.
Another point about today’s racing..I was thinking of going to Carlisle today but although it’s a decent card on soft going there’s not many runners. I like standing by the paddock watching 14 or so young horses in a bumper going round or 10 or 11 in a novice hurdle. Novice chases and listed races you expect 6 or 7 but there’s a lack of buzz when you watch the same half dozen in the other races. I’m undecided.

I’ve said since his hurdling days he’d win a regional National but how many chances do you give a horse? The closest I got with him was when he was second in the Midlands. I got that sinking feeling on Saturday you know the one…oh no not Milansbar!

I thought when Jameson was second at Newbury a top jockey would have had him better placed so as not to have to steer round the water after the last, but after Saturday there’s not many better then Russell and he couldn’t keep him from veering left again so it’s something the horse does. Admittedly he wasn’t good enough in a strong race. Having backed Kalondra when he was comprehensively beaten at Wincanton that was a shock how easily he won.

Pallasator..although he seems a reformed character since his relocation to Ireland.

Librisa Breeze didn’t get the run at the vital time and did amazingly well to get as close as he did. I wasn’t sure about 6 furlongs before and not sure Newmarket will suit for the July Cup but this horse is the real deal!

If Double Trigger was the last one to do it then either it’s the hard way or no decent horses have tried it since, if so why not? Probably because it’s the hard way!

Anybody know the last horse to lead all the way in an Ascot Gold Cup. I thought it would be too tough an ask and if Moore could’ve kept OOSG a bit wider it would’ve been.

I just feel so sad to have lost my favourite horse. Since watching him win a Wetherby bumper and running well in the Aintree bumper I thought he’d be very good once he strengthened up and for once I was right. I owe him for two great days when I backed him in the Hennessy and National but sorry I never thought he’d beat Thistlecrack so what a way to go out. What more can you ask than to jump beautifully , stay all day and give you’re all every time you run…what a horse! RIP Many Clouds.
