Won the 2.55 at Cheltenham today and collapsed after the winning jockey had given his interview.
It was so reminiscent of what happened with Many Clouds. Alice Plunkett had just finished interviewing Sean Bowen, the camera was still on all of them when sadly, he went down.
So heartbreakingly sad. His jumping throughout had been absolutely superb too and he was amazing to watch.
RIP.

November 17, 2024 at 15:37 #1713094God bless his soul.
November 17, 2024 at 15:43 #1713098Desperately sad. He’d put in a superb round of jumping and looked an absolute picture.

Run free ✨️Abuffalosoldier✨️Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...November 21, 2024 at 13:18 #1713426That was one of my worst days following racing. Those poor owners and stable staff, the horse jumped for fun and had the time of his life then mid-interview while celebrating a fantastic win the owner is told his horse has collapsed and we know what that means.
A seven year old with his best days ahead but all we can ask for is to go out doing something we love and he did. So sad.November 21, 2024 at 22:00 #1713472He did everything he was bred for and trained for with such enthusiasm and excellence. I do hope connections can one day look back with pride at what he achieved. It takes me back to Gloria Victis; what might have been. I hope the round of jumping that Abuffalosoldier put in last Saturday will never be forgotten; I’ll certainly never forget it. A minor detail but I loved his name, too.
