Thank you guys for nice words to.
June 24, 2017 at 21:27 #1306393Not sure if its been confirmed or not but on ITV they advised that Growl was deemed as a runner. Punters have not had any value for money. The horse was on its hind legs and they opened the gates. Hanagan had no chance of staying on the horse.
Well played those on The Tin Man. He ran a blinder.

June 24, 2017 at 21:39 #1306395Limato and Librisa Breeze the two to take out of the race for me. Limato probably paid the price for not having a prep run when weakening and being sandwiched in the final furlong.
Librisa Breeze (who does feel like a horse destined for hard luck stories) has obvious appeal for the future too.
The Tin Man is a good horse with a real affinity for Ascot but I wonder if time will show him to be the third best horse in that race. With the crack 3yos about to be let loose in this rather stagnant division, he’ll do well to win another big one this season.
June 24, 2017 at 21:41 #1306397A rejuvenated performance for the Sued-heads too, I might add. From the figures, I can confirm he gets a small sectional upgrade for racing so close to the pace. Good call Ginge.
As with The Tin Man though, I think this was best opportunity he’ll get all season at the top level.

Yes, sorry I meant to say that certain firms have given money back but they were not obliged to. This horse has to be a non-runner. When the gates opened he was on two legs! Im sure the rules state hes a runner but come on that was ridiculous.
PS I didnt back the horse just feel sorrt for those that did and didnt get their money back.

“Feel sorry” yes. But where should the line be drawn?
It was borderline, but the jockey was on the horse when the gates opened.Should it be that the horse needs to come out of the stalls with the jockey still on board? Might be better…
But if so, does all the horse need to be fully out? What about the tail?Value Is EverythingJune 24, 2017 at 23:52 #1306432I know that Sky bet are refunding on Growl

But if so, does all the horse need to be fully out? What about the tail?GT – from the replay ive seen, when the gates opened the horse was on two legs not four. Yes the jockey was on but mid-air so had no option but to fall off. For that reason it has to be a non runner.
I agree about your earlier comment. To be an eligible runner the whole horse (inc tail) should leave the gate.
June 26, 2017 at 12:37 #1306593Librisa Breeze didn’t get the run at the vital time and did amazingly well to get as close as he did. I wasn’t sure about 6 furlongs before and not sure Newmarket will suit for the July Cup but this horse is the real deal!

You hit the nail on the head jumpsfan, I’ve seen very few horses that have such
an explosive kick at the end of their races. There are always going to be traffic
problems with him in a big field, he has to be held up, but if he can navigate
his way through there’s definitely a big race in him. I’ll be keeping an eye to
see where he is being aimed
June 26, 2017 at 21:37 #1306628Suedois finished 7th, well out of the placings-where was the value MTOTO? We were talking about backing it in advance and not in running…
June 27, 2017 at 00:01 #1306650The only pointless thing about the enquiry was Jim Crowley. I think he knew he should have won so he thought it best not to emphasise the fact. I believe he would have won without the interference but the Stewards rarely do anything unless the interference is direct. Tasleet definitely the one to take out as he has now shown a decent level of form on quick and slow ground.

Question was never whether Suedois would win or be placed, Joliff; that particular question was always odds-against. 7th of 19 isn’t bad for a 25/1 shot, more than double that on exchanges.
The question was whether the massive odds on offer were worth taking the chance “in advance” given circumstances. Suedois did best of the prominent runners. He did as well as I would’ve expected given Kingscote and Tudhope took each other on too soon. If they hadn’t Suedois could have been placed. Indeed, short in-running prices strongly suggest it was worth taking a massive price “in advance”.
