Which will happen first: Beorma’s winning run come to an end or Albert Einstein win a race?

The post-race chat from Dan Skelton at Market Rasen suggested that Bangor was always the preferred target of the two. Academic now, of course.

Beorma holds two entries instead on the undercard of Uttoxeter’s Summer Cup fixture this Sunday, and could steal a fair few of the headlines from the winner of the feature if making it eight on the spin.

Whether they’ll go for the novices’ limited handicap chase with Beorma presumably depends on how much if at all they fear the 140-rated topweight, assuming that one stands his ground. If he does not, it becomes a de facto 0-125 only slightly higher banded than the 0-120 handicap hurdle she’s also entered in, and with probably that bit better a chance of cutting up.

Those seven wins have provided the owner (which was the trainer for the first win officially) with just under £21k in prize money. And that’s before the cost of entry, transport and jockey fees.

Harry Skelton has earned £1650 in riding fees and another approx £2700 as his share of the prize money.

Great for the number of winners in a season record, not so great for the trainers championship!

I’d be fairly sure that Martin Pipe’s numbers back in the day would have contained their share of wins in even less well-remunerated selling company. Many pennies pounds make, and all that.

Even without Beorma honouring her engagements there and no wins in any of the three class 2s, another ~£31,000 in the kitty at Uttoxeter yesterday will have been some further useful grist to the mill.

Having picked up over five grand for a schooling sessions after being effectively left solo at the first, I’d assume Edelak is a stick-on to turn out at Newton Abbot four days from now.

Over 84% of Skelton’s runners so far this season have won or been placed.

Does anyone know on what dates did Pipe hit the 100 and 200 mark in his record breaking season?

The entries for Beorma have stopped to nil now, which I assume may not be entirely by design. It’s certainly not as if her revised mark in the mid-110s would weight her out of taking up further opportunities in the immediate term.

Just look at what a meal she made of some of the latter flights on that most recent Market Rasen outing, however, not least the final two. I wonder whether she picked up an as-yet unreported knock in the process?

She’s had her summer break; she can now start the build-up to toppling Gaelic Warrior in March.

She’d have the same chance of winning that as Jango Baie etc to be fair.

I’ll wait for Newton Abbot on Thursday where she has yet another entry

Why is Beorma’s race(a class 4) worth £3855 to the winner while the 7.15 (a class 5) pays £4700 to the victor? The latter doesn’t even have a sponsor.
