Backed Beef or Salmon at 105 for the Gold Cup -laid off at 50s before his first win of the season.A four figure profit for no risk.

I would be inclined to back win only at this stage unless the price was over 20/1.I remember telling someone on another forum that Equs Maximus was a chronic each way bet for the Bumper at 4 or 5/1.The reply was that it was an insurance policy.Horse was available at around 10s on the day and was unplaced.

I made a conscious decision to go racing this year after a couple of years in front of the computer.Really enjoyed days out at Punchestown,Leopardstown and The Curragh.
Its still possible to back a horse at a bigger price with a certain Irish bookmaker then the lay price on betfair.

If they were serious about Al Eile and the Arkle they wouldn’t be aiming him at the Leopardstown November Handicap.Having said that I think the owner is "lucky".

A very tricky race.I cant see any horse that I would want to lay at current odds.

Clivex -I have half an idea how the game works. As I understand it Coolmore set their fees fairly high at first. They would probably pitch Shiroco at somewhere between 20-30k.Thats the downside but Coolmore are famous for supporting their customers at the sales, foal sharing agreements etc.
Being good to their customers while quietly screwing them seems to do the job.As I understand it the whole Darley organization are a lot less flexible in their approach.Thats tge difference.

Quote: from clivex on 12:45 pm on Oct. 27, 2006[br]Im not at all sure how these fees are worked out but i would imagine that there is a fair amount of logic and calculation behind it and would suspect that because of that, it would be little different at ballydoyle
Can you explain why Coolmore reign supreme and the other crowd don’t really matter when it comes to breeding.

    A boring response i know :)
My former boss bought a half brother to Queens Logic and Dylan Thomas a few years ago for 5K.The horse has won a couple of races and given them some good days out.

Two weeks after a defeat on heavy turf over a mile you want to take him across the Atlantic, race him on a new surface against the best horses in America.Lets think about that one.

By your logic someone having a cigarette in the toilet is practically a combatant in the war on terror.

How exactly did the "war on terror" have a direct bearing on the case.

There was a previous thread on this subject where people linked Carberrys behaviour to 9/11 and the war on terror.
