Sidders would have us believe that not only did Paddy Power lay the 100,000 at 8/1 but they also held the price.Maybe Kathy and himself should start writing the X-Files.

Sidders you are either a liar or stupid. There is no way on earth that Paddy Power laid that bet.I’m sorry if you don’t like what I say but I would say its fair comment.

Well Kathy I have said what I think which is more than be said about you.Your comment about even the richest owner in the world having his price is plainly ridiculous.

Kathy I would love to tell you what I think of your opinions but I strongly suspect it would be deleted.
Do you have any idea how much JPMcManus is worth. This man offered £50 million to the Irish government towards the cost of building a national sports stadium provided it was built to the highest standards. The Sunday Tribune had a piece on the wealthiest people in Ireland a couple of years ago and basically they said McManus was probably a billionaire.
McManus openly said in interviews before Tuesday that he wasn’t going to have a penny on the horse.Yesterday he didn’t have a bet on Barracouda and Bannow Bay owned by his closest associates was the subject of a mega punt -was there anything improper there.
Escorial – I have been banging on for a while now about Geos.I f he makes it to post fit and well 33/1 is a great each way price.
I would love to see Istabraq win and Landing Light must run a big race.I think punters restricting themselves to the first four in the betting is a recipe for disaster. It is Cheltenham and the other horses wont just lie down.

About 10 years ago I used to always keep an eye on the trends.Sometimes they can be useful sometimes completely duff.
I remember looking at the trends for the William Hill Trophy at York one year,a handicap over six furlongs and deciding you needed a potential Group horse to win it.
Basically I declared to all my mates that Sheikh Albadou was a Group horse masquerading as a handicapper. He carried a light weight to victory in the handicap before winning the Nunthorpe and Breeders Cup Sprint.
As Morgans Harbour says it is all a matter of interpretation and some stats are useless.

Is the Valiramix who ran in the Bula any different to the Valiramix that was placed twice at Sandown last season. For my money the answer is no.I liked the horse last season but he ran against three duds in the Bula. Can anyone name a worse Bula in the last 20 years.

Personally I would want to oppose Barracouda big time at even money.Backing even money shots at Cheltenham is a way to the poorhouse.
Spendid ran a solid race on Friday and was running on nicely at the finish.Anzum ran a similar race in the Rendlesham before winning the Stayers.Liss a Paoraigh looks to be laid out for the race.Deanos would be interesting at 20s if AP rides him.

The biggest win I ever had at Cheltenham was when Anzum won the Stayers Hurdle at 40/1 beating hotpot Le Coudray.Anzum was my nap of the meeting,Le Coudray my bismarck of the meeting.
I watched that race in a pub with about 150 people who on the whole had taken the day off work and using that day as a barometer people tend to back the shorter prices regardless of being Irish or English or even French.

I would maintain the average Irish mug punter in common with the average English mug punter will back the favourite as often as possible.
I have worked in bookmakers in Ireland and England and I never ceased to be amazed by the number of people who blindly back favourites.

I find the topic insulting and wonder what reaction I would get if I asked do all English punters drink cans of special brew and sign on.

Rook -Magnus was purchased to win races on this side of the channel which he has failed to do yet.The fact that he has been entered up over distances between 2 miles and the 3 and a quarter mile Long Walk Hurdle suggests they don’t know what to do with the horse.
Cyfor Malta has won a single race since I started slagging him off ,a handicap at Newbury where he was given every chance at the weights and the second seemed to have other things on his mind.Hardly earth shattering stuff is it.Get back to me when he wins a race of note.
By the way I see you were unable to answer my points about Japhets defeat.

At £340,000 Magnus was the worst buy since Snaafi Dancer.
Pipe did attempt to bring back Cyfor Malta in early 2001 when he was badly hammered at Cheltenham.

And why doesn’t Pipe get the chance to train Derby winners.APOB and Michael Dickinson were headhunted.
