Waffle -pure and simple.
Nigerian prince seeks help to get funds out of country. This thread is roughly heading in that direction -I would like to see it deleted.
Anyone smart enough to make money gambling is smart enough to know there are no tax implications.I hate liars.
Andy if you are perplexed by 2yo’s being beaten at odds on you need to find another sport.
I can guarantee you Vincent trained plenty of odds on losers.
I never look at times-I don’t know how many times the Supreme Novices has been run in a faster time then the Champion. As the man said means diddly squat.
You are making your judgement on a very small sample.Lester was good enough to win two Washington Internationals in the 60s,Ives and Eddery both won ArlingtonMillions in the 80s.
I remember Eddery and Cauthen at their peak fighting for a jockeys title and there was nothing between them.Irish Stamp-how many races have you seen from 20 or 30 years ago to be able to make that generalization about jockeys then being poor judges of pace.Tony Ives knew enough about pace to be able to win an Arlington Million.
Paramount is a slow animal who has been beaten any amount of times. The jockey was poor but what do you expect in a ladies race.
I made him my place lay of the day on the grounds that be was ridden from a long way out at at The Curragh and had a fairly hard race -he has been on the go for a long time and today’s race wasn’t a soft touch.in my opinion Monteroso never travelled today and never looked like winning or getting placed for that matter.
Unfortunately for me an earlier rush of blood to the head meant I only had 10per cent of my intended bet.The letter from Cecil to his owners was the start of Lesters troubles with the Inland Revenue.
None of the shops I know would give a second thought to accepting 200 @5s just before a race.
The boys must be hungry for publicity or attention seekers.they failed to make the most of a winning hand and if they wanted to go again at a later date they haven’t helped their chances.
I dooubt if the owner or trainer will have any complaints about Tom and how he performed at the meeting.
October 21, 2009 at 21:37 in reply to: American Racing – Anyone actually like it or bet on it? #254696I have watched a fair amount of American racing and in my opinion in terms of integrity its no better or worse then European racing.Short priced favourites will get beaten in controversial cirumstances that is the nature of the beast -I’m fairly sure I’ve seen it happen in Europe.
Condemning American racing because of Suffolk Downs is like condemning English racing because of Wolverhampton.I enjoy Steves article on a Sunday- I know plenty of people that punt as heavily as he does-very few would be honest enough to write about it.Its laughable that someone could by offended by an article about gambling in the Racing Post.
I was at Leopardstown for the Champion Stakes and there was an enquiry into the running of Casual Conquest -I cant honestly remember the reason that Weld gave but I remember thinking at the time that surely CC must be aimed at the Breeders Cup.With the aid of medication he could be worth a poke at 33s.
