A rather suitable surname for such a ride given to Paramount in the 4.15 Curragh – I would advise a few people to take a look at the ride and give their opinions.
Just because Katie Walsh decided to pick another horse doesn’t mean that Paramount has to be a non trier.
Miss Pisarek clearly showed a talent for riding when coming 2nd at Punchestown with this horse but that took the piss and feel sorry for anyone who backed it to be honest, disgusting.
July 18, 2010 at 16:32 #307122There could be a new phrase in the making: "weak as Pisarek"
Or do you think she was just taking the Pisarek?
July 18, 2010 at 18:36 #307144I’ll probably be in the minority here, but what’s the problem with the ride?
This is a lady amateur riders race, what do you expect apart from horses travelling strongly with a jockey aboard who can’t exert any strength in the saddle?
True, the horse was going well behind the leaders, but for the last furlong or so the jockey was clearly pushing along and the horse didn’t pick up.
Put it this way, I’ve seen far worse rides than this in my time and I really don’t think there’s much wrong here. Just my opinion of course.

Nina Carberry, Hayley Turner, the rest nowhere.
July 18, 2010 at 18:41 #307147Paramount is a slow animal who has been beaten any amount of times. The jockey was poor but what do you expect in a ladies race.

They certainly do, though possibly not in the manner you’re positing – backing the very fine Isobel Tompsett and Georgina Andrews continues to serve me very well, ta.

I do keep an eye on Isa and Georgie, but not in a
make it pay
way. It works all the same.

Thought Andrews Jnr made a decent flat debut at Lingfield in May but she’s not had any rides since – look forward to the new season when I’m sure a few bets on Gina and Isobel will be had
September 1, 2010 at 10:35 #315349Aye, bet Isobel’s already counting the days until Chesnut Annie resumes work. And so am I, if not for betting purposes – backing 1-8 favs in a Llanfrynach Ladies Open isn’t quite how I roll!
