Well done to Lydia-I thought that was an excellent response. She even tackled my Dennis Pennis inspired question.

Big Tony-why would anyone want to take 20s from you when 25s is freely available from high street bookmakers.
IG1-I was in the winners enclosure at Aintree when IG was runner up to Kickham.Jonjo introduced your father to JP.He said he was absolutely thrilled to have a horse good enough to get placed at Aintree.I have followed IG closely since then without necessarily punting on him.Hopefully he will win lots more races-even though the Gold Cup might be out of reach.

Someone once said a professional should make 5% on turnover after expenses.Sounds easier then it actually is.

Aidan -it was me who said that you can only make so many excuses for a horse and from a historical point of view this is correct.I could name hundreds of horses who have had excuses after excuse made for them.Killer Instinct,Desert Sun,Saratogan,Tobougg, the list is endless.

When I started gambling one of the first horses I thought was going to be a superstar was called Gorytus trained by Dick Hern.He was doped when odds on for the Dewhurst and was never the same again despite many chances. The lesson I learned was that it is an expensive business making excuses especially when the horse is likely to start at short odds.

Fallon has no retainer with Stoute and is not obliged to ride Golan.

Scu and Pitman are very knowledgeable and if you listened to their analysis of a race you wouldn’t go far wrong.
Tanya Stephenson is useless, herself and Lesley Graham are token women.Tanya might take over from Big Mac but not for very long. Her tips are natural bismarcks,I’m sure she doesn’t get a charity bet any more.
Lest anyone think I’m a misogynist I think Claire Balding is agood and Tracy Piggot was very good onR.T.E.

Does anyone remember the big fuss about Prokofiev at Aintree about a year and a half ago.A couple of weeks ago imagine if Rith Dubh had been beaten at Cheltenham there would have been uproar-the jockey didn’t touch him with the stick.Down To The Woods at Ascot last summer was ridden from behind without being hit he looked unlucky but it was probably his best run last season.
Yesterday I happened to see the meeting at Nad El Sheeba and that horse Grey Memo put in an amazing performance he was dropped out in last place and looked like tailing off only to finish like the fastest thing on four legs.
I certainly don’t dispute we have more then our fair share of non triers but sometimes they are reasons for a horse getting tender handling.

Someone mentioned Bahamian Pirate.I followed this one for a while last year and he is a tricky customer who is hard to win with.Personally I don’t back horses trained by Hannon or Nicholls and avoid Mark Johnson.

I suspect the reason for Escorials venom towards Istabraq is that he had a bad week last week at Cheltenham and wants to lash out.
If you look at the Channel4 coverage Istabraq is in trouble about 30 seconds before Simon Holt announces he has pulled up.
Its pointless having an arguement with Escorial we all know he is a master debater. The first arguement I had with him was after the Whitbread last year when he said 33s Ad Hoc for the Gold Cup should be taken immediately-I advised waiting 6 months until he ran again.

I am telling you for a fact that Paddy Power would not take 100,000 euros on a bet of that nature.
In all honesty do either you or Kathy believe it to be true.

What Sidders has passed on is not only a blatant lie,it is a stupid lie.It has zero credibility. It has not been reported in any mainstream media and as someone pointed out earlier you would have been lucky to get 100 euros on a novelty bet like that.
If you read Sidders posting at 5:48pm he represents it as a fact that a 100,000 euro bet was struck at those odds.

Kathy do you believe it is proper to take away a mans good name.If Sidders allegations are to be believed JP McMaus is a liar and a cheat to put it mildly.
Anyone who thinks I owe Sidders an apology should go back and read his postings on this thread.Sidders tell us if you do or don’t believe this rubbish. If you don’t believe it why post it.
