There is a fair cross-membership which contradicts your point. Also both places had their genesis in the old ch4 forum.

I am certainly not part of any clique-I just post the same kind of stuff that is posted here.
The question is do you want this place to fade away or be revitalized.

No there is a crossover in membership already and it would revitalize both places.

Surely a merger with talkinghorses is the way forward.

Was the rail moved on Sunday morning? If I am not mistaken there have been a couple of incidents in the past regarding times at The Curragh.

Backed the 3rd at 25s to pay for a weekend at The Curragh. Will win a race but Easterby doesn’t do favours for the general punting public.

Shiroccos Breeders Cup form would see him home and hosed but against that Epsom is a track like no other and both horse and jockey are unproven on the track.
The best horse didn’t win last years Coronation Cup.

You could say the same about Giants Causeway and he is making it as a stallion.I heard Rock of Gibraltar has a tremendous appetite for the job.Rock by name, rock by nature is the quote I heard.

I think you are spot on with the Powerscourt comparison Aidan.

I will have an each way punt on Ace.If he is ever going to win a European Group 1 it will be tomorrow-if not I think they will try and find and American race.

Quote: from clivex on 9:55 am on June 1, 2006[br]If he was pulled out of dewhurst cos of "soft ground", why was he running on bottomless stuff on Saturday? I still dont get it
I think it has a lot to do with being seen to support a classic at The Curragh.I was listening to RTE radio about an hour before the race and they said that APOB was reluctant to run the horse. In hindsight it was definitely a mistake.

Around this time last year I lost my job-I also hit peak form on the horses. In a ten week period from mid April I won a little over€15,000-my betfair commission points were up to around 18,000.I was betting an absolutely savage amount but because I was winning I felt fully entitled to have a go.One friend of mine advised me to run with the ball and see how far I could take it.I was laying odds on shots in maidens for a grand and being fairly relaxed about it.
I got offered a job starting Royal Ascot week and I contemplated taking the summer off to see how far I could take it but having a wife and a child who was only ten months old at the time I really had to take the job-which I am still in.
Strangely enough when I started work I lost a couple of grand fairly fast so I did the sensible thing paid off a few bills ,bought a few things for the house and paid for a nice little holiday.
I have to say it was tremendously exciting while it lasted but you need nerves and balls of steel.

I saw Gillespie being interviewed last week and he was singing the virtues of Cheltenham as a place to conduct business,to conclude a deal, another stop on the prawn sandwich circuit.
In my opinion the fourth day dilutes the overall quality of the meeting.Cheltenham aren’t going to say no the additional revenue so whats the solution. My answer would be to take the 6 weakest races and run them on the Friday as they did with the Ascot Heath meeting that was previously run on the Saturday of the Royal meeting-surely this would satisfy the traditionalists and the managements greed for money.
