After reading  Lydia’s thorough reply to Andyman on Iris’s Gift, I look forward to reading her take on the Cheltenham horse fatalities so soon after the Newbury deaths.

Tremendous effort to answer these questions so thoroughly and thought provokingly. The issue of Iris’s Gift’s participation in the Gold Cup has clearly polarised opinion and incited quite a depth of emotional response. I found Lydia’s explanation of her motivation for the article, not to mention the article itself, excellent.  It’s a pity that we can’t enjoy her participation in racing discussion here on a regular basis (unless she is, in fact jackane!).
