i see that fair along has been entered in a novice chase on the 7th of nov at exeter. with the allowance 5 year olds get, providing he jumps fences like he jumps hurdles i can see him having the arkle feild on the stretch.

He isn’t very big and lacks scope but of course that doesn’t mean he won’t be able to jump.

Having scope is having the shape to suggest that he will improve with time, is one way of describing it. Not having scope, he looks as if he has finished growing, is perhaps another way of explaining it.

Other people may describe "having scope" in some other way but that is the way that I understand it.

Hope that helps in some way.

If they were serious about Al Eile and the Arkle they wouldn’t be aiming him at the Leopardstown November Handicap.Having said that I think the owner is "lucky".

I am aware of that Luke, look at Violet O’Leary, she didn’t have a whole lot of horses. Florida Pearl, Be My Royal and Missed That being among them…..

But he doesn’t have any friends working in the commentary box!

Surely Al Eile has shown over hurdles that he’s not at home round Cheltenham – doesn’t the trainer consider him best on a flat track?

Lennon, Lennon, Lennon!!  Put up a brilliant performance with exuberant jumping to win as he liked on his debut.  33/1 is the wrong price for him.

Well, Dave22, there was nothing wrong with that chasing debut by Fair Along.

If he can jump around Cheltenham without any problem there is no reason why he cant go to the top over fences.
