If you think Gladiatorus / Eastern Anthem were doped, why not come out and say that?
Whichever way you look at it Ian, both horses have roundly upheld the Gp1 Dubai form that you and others rubbished as nothing of the sort.

You don’t seem to understand the basic point being made, reet hard.
I am not saying that form behind the "outlier" performances we see in Dubai won’t be upheld, I am saying those outlier performances totally devalue the racing in general and must act as a deterrent to good horses going over to Dubai.
Come back to us when Eastern Anthem wins a Group 1. And no, I’m not holding my breath

Your point has been well and truly blown away, yet you continue to manouevre in an attempt to deny this.
Since Dubai, we have had
– Spanish Moon, Group 1 winner
– Paco Boy, Group 1 winner
– Youmzain, shd second in a Group 1
– Vodka, dual Group 1 winner
– Presvis, Group 1 winner, and 2nd in another Group 1
– Alexandros, nse second in a Group 1, probably denied due to whip being knocked out of rider’s handSo, preferential treatment for bigger punters then?
I am not doubting the quality of either Paco Boy or Presvis, nor am I unaware of Godolphin’s record with horses they have aquired from other yards.
If you think the "real" Gladiatorus was the one that took the field apart in Dubai – fine. I will just politely agree to disagree.
I’m confused. Is your thread about the quaity of Dubai racing (what i read from your initial post) or that we didn’t see the real Gladiatorus in Dubai (ie – he was doped)? It seems to move between one and the other.
Trip a worry with Gallagher?
I’m a big fan of Capercaille too.
I’m not too worried by the trip, and was happy to see Delegator run so well yesterday.
What would worry me if I was a Rose Blossom fan is Fahey saying she’s the best two year old he’s had – i don’t remember him having an awful amount of top class two year olds to which he could compare her. The American horse would worry me, and I may well cover with her after yesterday – very difficult to equate the form, and she is meant to be one of their better ones.
If Goldolphin cannot get Suroor to replicate the success of bin Shafya, he should be sacked. I’d like to see someone like Tim Vaughan, Evan Williams, Peter Bowen, Alison Thorpe of Keith Goldsworthy given a chance.
Agree with the sentiment, if not necessarily the list of trainers.
Lazy point by you TDK; I think you are trying to fit a pre-conceieved notion you have into yesterday’s events. If you want to use Gladiatorus as an example of anything, refer to the current state of Godolphin, their success at handling new recruits and why this has changed since the late nineties.
So, answer this … after the performance of Paco Boy yesterday, and Presvis in the far east, surely that makes the Duty Free the race of the season?
I like Loch Linnhe strongly in the first, and will also bet Gallagher. Both should feature in what looks a substandard Jersez Stakes, thereby ruining my hope this race would get the upgrade I think it deserves.
Lush Lashes or Tartan Bearer. Which one of these 13/8 shots do you think is most likely to win? The former by a mile for me. Tartan Bearer doesn’t have the pace for this and in what is an open race, i’ve backed the two Gosden horses each way.
I like Roaring Forte in the Hunt Cup, though Mia’s Boy could go close from the low draw if last year’s bias is repeated. I have read Roaring Forte will not be tracking across Berkshire a la those numpties last year, which makes backing him a much better proposition.
Cappercaillie in the Queen Mary.
Enjoy and good luck all.
I can’t touch a Godolphin horse with a 50-foot pole.
Agree. Am happy to let them run and win if they do, but it leaves a bad taste to see a horse you’ve backed beaten so far out time and again this season.
I can state with some certainty that yesterday was one of the worst days I’ve ever had; hopefully I can avoid the double.
You weren’t the only one

I like the two Gosden horses here. I think Virtual needs the step up in trip (despite winning a Lockinge) and the ground should really suit Tazeez, who has run some fast times on a similar surface, and is likely to get an easy lead. How he is twice the price of Twice over, who he beat very comfortably in the Earl of Sefton, I do not know.
Is that the rat who was interviewed on Racing uk in the last week or so ? I saw an interview with some big time punter with a degree, and i’m sure he said he grassed on someone and got them put away after he received threats or something.
That is one of the most ignorant and stupid posts i’ve ever seen.
You are the most cynical and bitter individual I’ve ever encountered online, but I’ll take your compliment and offer a
and a
What’s cynical and bitter?
I think if you do make it as an international racing journalist, something which i have no idea about (only to say where there’s a will there’s a way), it will have little to do with backing winners, an act on which i complemented you on quite nicely, and all to do with journalistic ability and racing knowledge.

It’s a good feeling. This is my bread and butter – more than the local scene – so wins like these justify my eagerness to enter the racing media industry, and hopefully give some integrity and respect to the international racing scene.
No, it doesn’t … your journalistic skills and racing knowledge will determine that, rather than a one-off (or even a series of) bet(s).
Muchos congrats on the tipping though … quite impressive. I couldn’t see much of an angle to be honest, only that it was too sharp for the Aga Khan horse, and Westphalia not quite good enough. Well done.

As I’ve tried to point out so many times before; always trust the trainer – particularly those at the top of the game.

Is this the trainer who didn’t reckon the best horse of last season would stay a mile until over half way through the season, who was a July cup possible and ended up going for the Breeders Cup Classic?
I am a fan of Gosden, but to suggest he (& other top trainers) should not be questioned in terms of their opinions of their horses is madness.
Chester is a glorified dog track.
Sour grapes.
If you think that is what it is, what are you doing betting on races there?
No, i’ve backed nothing for the Derby.
However, this is far from the first time I’ve seen posts with the tone or exact words … ‘end of’, ‘move on’ etc. (Godolphin topic, for example)
Myles is free to move on from stopping a debate; others can, and will choose when they want to. I think it comes across as pretty ignorant.
Your dismissive posts are becoming more and more annoying.
