Interesting to hear how Fabre spoke about Shirocco after the race.
He seems to rate him very close to Hurricane run. The Corantion cup should not be missed, although it is a pity Shawanda misses out.
Aussies and class – not 2 words I thought I’d see in a sentence, as I’m finding out to my cost at the moment
As a racing enthusiast (as all on here), it is frustrating to goto the races only to be surrounded by drunken yobs. They look less smart in their suits than other non-suited and booted folk.
Definitely sympathise about being refused entry ..
If anyone can tell me why Hard Top is rated so high, I’d love to hear it.
He won a falsely run Great Voiteguer (sp?) and thats it. Not shown much else for me. Now Munsef is a horse who may progress well this season.
Jack – I think you’ll find it’s Coomore who’ll be a lot quicker to retire a 3 year old than the boys in blue.
I never said they are true 12F horses. I thin both will most likely be suited by 10F in time, as I said above.
Hence, why I think a mile at this stage is … perfect
How can Medicean’s stat’s be used for analysing 3 year olds when his first crop have run only a handful of times?
Anyone who thinks Sir Percy or for that matter Horatio (Providing he’s fit enough) will be outpaced would want to have a serious re-think.
Even if transpires that the perfect distance for SP or HN is 1 1/4m, then a mile at this stage of their 3 year old career represents the PERFECT trip.
On the subject of GW, I would have no hesitation in backing SP to beat Amadeus Mozart by more than 8 lengths.
Tomorrow will tell all.
Can’t wait:cool:
Great to see Dave Nevison on the morning line. Pity that absolute prat wouldn’t shut up next to him. Who wants to hear how miserable he is??
Dave Nevison’s weekly column’s in the RFO are fantastic reading, always guaranteed to make you laugh.
Certainty to lay at evens
It’s better than I thought, but feel large parts of the paper seem to be looking to attract tabloid reading folk.
Alan Brazil? Don’t get me started…
Our Ben would never, ever have won that race. He travels like a nightmare.
Commercial Flyer – ???.
Not an enjoyable race to watch.
Was it me, or did A Thornton nearly fall off the listener at either the first or second for no apparent reason??
What an awful, awful day …
DJ,
Outstanding horse no doubt – not worried that a fast run race on ground with "good" in the description won’t be suitable?
Sweet Wake has done nothing to say he should be anyone’s banker. For me, the only reason anyone has for backing him heavy is the hype from connections.
Sure, he looks good, and I still can’t find one to take him on with, but will be reluctant to part with cash at extremely cramped odds.
Rasharrow hasn’t done a lot wrong … Bumper 3rd, beaten a length, won a few novice races and close up behind Royal Shakespeare at Sandown. David Brady could be a superstar yet …
First of all, I have a pretty neutral opinion on Rishi P. – in fact, his attempts to get Fallon for an interview on Arc day and inadvertently being in the photos were hilarious.
But … why in this age aren’t people allowed to criticise "minorities"? Who said anyone’s opinions of Rishi were down to his race? FFS.<br>
Strange one that about No Refuge as Graham Lee is widely reported to have told Howard Johnson immediately after the Cleeve Hurdle that he was just got tired, and that he thought he’d get the trip on good ground.
I can’t see why he wouldn’t get the trip on good ground. He was going away over 2m5 last year, and is a year older now.
We’ll see I guess …
I received my copy a few days back. Must say, a great read, very informative and rather than point you in the direction of the winner, it’s main benefit is in trying to eliminate horses unlikely to win.
Good buy.
