he would be a good lay first time out over fences tho!
your right, i cant imagine him being a reliable jumper of a fence, or really enjoying it, but he does neither over hurdles really anyway!
my prediction for the champion hurdle is detroit city, macs joy and noble request will be fighting out the finish, ahead of iktitaf and harchibald who dont like a scrap. but what order the first 3 i have no idea! i think noble request is a spring horse and could be up there. what do you think!?

the week before the race all i read was brave inca was fitter than this time last year, and various connections saying they expecte him to take all the beating. after the race all you hear are excuses. imo he had an extremly hard season last year with mccoy taking him to the well once too often. it will suprise me if he is the same force again over hurdles, possibly the time to go chasing??
iktitaf won well enough i thought, for a moment i thought he was another harchibald coming there full of running, and not seeming to find much, but watching it over and over i think asian maze was coming at him hard and he was finding enough to hold her off. imo!
having said that, i would take the mare if offered one! she will def come on for that.
newmill won a poor CC and is over rated. mister mcgoldrick in third! please!

i really like iris’s gift. but i think after a couple of injuries his ability has dwindled. i think his best chance would be in high class handicaps, such as the welsh national.

    how about laventure?
looks like she is going to be kept fresh for the race, loves the trip and soft ground, won last year, wont have much weight if state of play, one knight and sir rembrandt take there chance.

i do expect kauto star to win, but i think BoS will push him right to the line. although we havent seen kauto in a fighting finish, correct me if im wrong, so its possible he may not find all that much under pressure??

ofcourse there are going to be top and bottom performers in any sport, but just because ruby or mccoy ride win a race, doesnt mean the other horses lost because the jocks are rubbish. i just think to much emphasis is on the jocks

i just think people put far to much blame on jockeys. my opinion is that the best horse on the day usually wins, and i exept there are some hard luck stories and that some jockeys are stronger in different areas than other jockeys, but at the end of the day there isnt that much in them. otherwise they wouldnt be doing the job!

this sort of thing really annoys me, most people who criticize jockeys have never sat on a horse, let alone jumped one, and have very little idea of what skill is actually required. and as for not being able to pass mccoy, rubish. the horse gave his all, and my will just had abit left in the tank. i bet you backed idle talk and thats why your bitter!

2 horses stand out to me, state of play, and lou du moulin mas. state of play should still be improving and is not exposed, and lou du moulin mas had a confidence booster over hurdles, has had a wind operation and has a very good weight.

i wouldnt get too excited. racing demon is the most over hyper chaser at the moment(willing to eat my words if he wins the peterbourogh) but doubt it.
and what exactly did aztec warrior beat!
hen is very good at finding weak races and ducking races when there is decent competition, i will give you that! then they get stuffed at the higher level, ie racing demon in the arkle

The reason he is around 4-1 is simple. If he was any bigger we would all be on, and if he does continue to improve the bookies would have a big pay out come champion hurdle day. If he wins what was the bula he will be closer to 2-1.

i see kauto star has been installed the short priced favourite for the betfair chase. the horse is on my 10 to follow, but i think monkerhostin could beat him if he runs, which now seems unlikely. monkerhostin seems to run a stone better when fresh. iris’s gift could be interesting too

i expect he will have a few more runs, quite quickly i would imagine, possibly being beaten in winter ground. then mr hobbs will give him a break and bring him back for the arkle. hopefully at a biggish price as he was for the triumph hurdle last year. then watch him go!
