i agree he doesnt want over campaigning, but as his CC run showed, he does need experience. If he ran in the tingle creek, and then the king george, nicholls would prob give him a rest and bring him back for the newbury meeting before the festival. but in all likely hood, he wont run saturday anyway.
I assume Kauto star will only run in the Tingle creek if Voy doesnt run. but it would be great if he could win at 2 mile, 2.5, and 3 all in one season.
they seem to be wrapping him up in cotton wool a bit. if he is the world beater that they think he is then he should cope with any ground or opotition. my gut feeling is he would have run if inglis drever wasnt declared. its very frustrating having backed him for the order of merit, and included him in my ten! <br>doubt he will run in ireland because they will be scared of asian maze. possibly they are re-routing him to 2 mile races?
i hope your wrong because i have baacked him for champion, and he is on my 10 to follow. i really want the horse to be as good as he looked, but i cant help feel people are getting carried away with his performance in the greatwood. if he does the same at cheltenham in december i will be happy, but we will just have to wait and see. he will prob go off a short priced favourite so a potential lay?

your right grasshopper, the leaders do seem to contain horses that lack scope. i hope! must be nice being at the top of the table tho!
was just wondering how everyone is getting on now the competition has started. ive had 7 run so far, 3 wins, 3 2nds and a faller. detroit city, kauto star, iktitaf, central house, asian maze, beef or salmon and taranis. im regreting not having nickname and star de mohaison but i always want to change horses as soon as i submit my entry!!!

in the charlie hall he basically stopped to jump the last! i feel he simply isnt good enough to win the gold cup. he has to be ridden around the outside, like to lead, doesnt like a scrap, and sulks if things dont go his way. does that sound like a gold cup winner?!?

rooster booster ran consistently under big weights was my point. istabraq won no handicap hurdles if i remember rightly. we can only speculate how he would have coped in the tote gold trophey with 11-12 giving 16lb and more. maybe he would have won, but who knows. and as for kauto star, it was hardly a race, let alone a handicap first time out!!
my opinion is the trainers dont want to risk the reputation of the horses in a handicap because some of the ‘top’ horses might be found out in a fast run handicap. gone are the days of top horses carrying 12 stone when the rest of the field has 11 and less! its a great shame, i feel true greats cope with the weight and still perform consistently. (dessie, rooster booster)<br>wont see BoS or WoA or KS in a handicap!
getting rid of mccoy has sorted his jumping out, now he needs to sort out his galloping, i wont be backing him until i see him finishing his race
ive never really liked hardy. (prob sentimental because he beat rooster booster!) but that aside i think his best chance this year is in the stayers. looks like they are planning to test the water at ascot in the long walk rather than take him to cheltenham for the old bula. <br>a wise move i feel<br>
