the thing about detroit city is he can cruise at high speed and then really lengthen his stride and take lengths out of the field it seconds, whereas HE and BI grind out there rivals and i think the young grey will have just to many gears for them. but i think the champion hurdle will be the race of the season

empty wallet, how far was afsoun beaten in the triumph and at aintree last season by detroit city?
just look at what detroit city beat in that race, fair along, blazing bailey, afsoun, turko, mister height, kasbah bliss and brathing fire. one of the best triumph hurdles ever imo.
the international may have been a falsly run race, but what it showed was how much pace detroit city has.
imagine him sitting in behind hardy all the way aroung until the last, who do you think will have more kick up the hill?
what a race!
cant see BI reversing the form in march, there was nothing about the race that was a dissadvantage to BI. HE was wrong all of last season and still ran a cracker in the champion. it would appear HE has the measure of the irish horses but can he beat DC?
i thought macs joy ran an encouraging race but cant see him being better than placed at cheltenham. iktitaf and asian maze were very disapointing, neither travelling imo

there is likely to be more pace on than usual in these irish events and i think this will suit brave inca and iktitaf. e/w on iktitaf seems a good bet dj

stormont, mccoy did ease BJK on the run in and didnt give him a hard time of it. if he had made him gallop to the line he would have been a closer 4th. imo if this had happened people would have said he was beaten fair and square and thats as good as he is.
i think he has been exposed and thats all there is too it, inglis drever has shown how good he is on faster ground and i cant see BJK beating him in march

i backed him too! was gutted, even thought he was going to get up again on the run in! i hope he comes back as good as ever, although i think his ultimate race could be the ryanair.

ok, keep dreaming! it was his stiffest task to date and he got beat, fair and square, i would have liked nothing more than for him to be the next star. he dropped away at the point in the race when everything else dropped away in his previous 8 races. but you are obviously fond of the horse and fair enough give him another chance, but he isnt getting my money!
oh, and for your information my family and i own 36 horses between us and i have rehomed some old racehorses. and if a horse is lame it doesnt ‘suddenly get better’ walking down the horse walk. i suspect his muscles tied up, which often happens to horses after races and this does ‘walk off’. if he was lame mccoy would have dismounted the horse. he is no fool

when black jack ketchum beat blazing bailey, bjk just sat in behind bb, who had to make his own running, and this race was 3 furlongs longer. however i dont think this made a s**t of difference to the way bjk ran today, i think he is the harchibald of the stayers!
As for his form up until this season, he looked good, but what had he actually beaten and what have the beaten horses achieved since over hurdles?
black jack ketchum wasnt withdrawn today, and thats why he isnt 2/1-on. i think 5-2 is still too small on what he showed today.
i dont think he was particularly unsuited by the heavy ground, if you stopped the race 2 flights out you would say he was the definate winner, ive watched the tape over and over, and it looks to me that he hated having the other 3 horses upsides and downed tools when he couldnt cruize up the hill unchallenged.
im sure he has ability, and if the other horses had been beaten off he probably would have won on the bridle, but that wont be the case in the world hurdle.

either asian maze or hardy eustace could win it if they ran. black jack has been massively over rated i fear, by myself also as i have him in my 10 to follow! cant see him fighting his way up the hill in march, especially as his poor performance will attract more horses to the race
inglis drever giving blazing bailey 8lb and only beaten 4 lengths doesnt rule him out of it either as connections revealed he still isnt down to his ideal racing weight

our vic wont win any race at the festival and should put him away until april for the race he won last year.
the novice mare was travelling well at the time, but looked flat out imo but would have been 2nd at worst imo.
i think exotic dancer is booked for 2nd in the gold cup as he wasnt stopping and will win if kauto tips up!
i think you have hit the nail on the head racing daily, he is strictly a bridle horse. people keep making excuses for him,
a, if the ground beat him why did he travel as well as anything else in the race, travel up strongly then drop away like a stone when asked to quicken up
b, this he was lame in front business, he was lame behind etc, fair enough if everyone had the same leg, but know one does!! i just think he was tired
c, he cant have run his race because blazing bailey beat him? BB is a 5 year old, who ran a good race over 3 miles last time out, and was 3 lengths behind him over an inadiquate 2 mile 5 at cheltenham.

imo, black jack was beaten because he doesnt have the guts to battle. he may be an extremely classy horse, but without battling qualities he isnt going to win the top races. i think it was written all over mccoys face that black jack isnt actually that good.

im sure there will be many that disagree with my opinion and iu will be interested in your views

a very interesting race, but i dont think what wins today will win the triumph because the ground is unlikely to be heavy in march. i like the look of pancake e/w

im going to have a SMALL bet on ID to win. just feel its the right thing to do! also i get alot of pleasure from taking on short priced favourites, and its slightly profitable imo!
