Interesting perspective, I would say Cue Card is an exceptionally risky ew bet. He has been very miss miss this year. If he is at his best he’ll win if he isn’t he won’t place I am sure. Minimal profit for the ew stake. I would just cover two on the win.
I did occur to me that it would be odd for Meade to have two horses in the same race but also thought Poli looked the best and speediest and would go 3m route.
Hopefully that is how they go.
I do wish the owners would stand up to Mullins.
It seems he only cares about his stable having a representative in each race. Ricci hasn’t got a clue. Vautour should be going Arkle, Power WH, Champers Ryanair. Mullins ants the others and will get his own way.

Can’t see anything outside of the top four in the betting being anywhere near good enough!
I’m ruling out Dodging Bullets on two disappointing efforts at previous festivals….for me he took the best form into last years Arkle and we were told he’d had a breathing op so there would be no excuse like the year before…and he ran way below par for me…yes, he’s looked great this season but I can’t see anything other than another below par festival on everything we know about the horse.
Champagne Fever has an excellent festival record, and has to be respected on that. For me though he wants further to show his best. Looking at Paddy Power pushing him out to 14/1 for the Ryanair it looks like they know where he’s heading? Ryanair looked the perfect race to me after a superb effort 1st time this season when looking to just fail to stay the King George trip. Travelled and jumped as well as I’ve ever seen him though. Also thought it wasn’t a foregone conclusion last time when falling at the last, many people thought Don Cossack would have gone on to win, I’m not so sure though, as we know his battling qualities. In terms of his chances at a Championship 2 mile event I just don’t see it….if he does go for this it’s got to be the worst planned preparation ever for a horse running in this race and one that will cost him dearly for me.
So for me that leaves it as a match between the top 2 in the betting and one I just favour Sprinter Sacre in. I was impressed by SDG last time and no one can knock what he did last year, that was without the proper champ around though. I saw enough in Sprinter Sacre’s return to suggest he’s still got a fair few lbs in hand of these and can only see him coming on for that run and improving again.
Sprinter to be King again for me!
Exactly my thoughts but the odds aren’t there. I will have a point on the day now but out of interest more than anything.
Speaking through my small bet on betfair but the horse that beat her doesnt go. It’s not as if Mullins has anything better. Correct me if I’m wrong?
Been thinking they very same notion as you there. Can see meade having at lest 2 winners over the week. h e has some real nice chances and they are all very backable prices. Suspect you will make profit following him blind this year.
It is not a dig at him it is just the way it has fallen previously. To say there is no way is probably a bit naive.
Now looks likemy 25-1 big one on Kilcrea is dead in the pan too.
THis is getting rather harsh, I seem to have somehow backed all the non runners so far.
Both Jolly and AV look to be goinghere. This has the hallmarks of another McCoy wrong selection. AV to bounce back???
It is a very weak looking race this year. I would like to have seen Nichols Canyon from the front in this one.
I can’t justify betting Douvan at all. I think he has done nothing better than what Serge and Jolly have done. He would have to be at least 4-1 for a bet.
Hang on, Fletchers Flyer is still entered. He disappeared on Wed for a small while.

Also have a small ew on Little King Robin which looks dusted.
Wouldn’t be surprised if Faugheen followed a similar career path to Peddlers Cross. Has so far.

Vautour JLTIf Ricci had the right mind he should be taking on UDS in the arkle. That is my opinion, i haven’t seen a more impressive supreme for a while.
