Any confirmation if Beat That is being aimed for this or a chasing career yet? If they wait another season for fences I can see this horse being a big player for this.

It’s an annoying time of year, trying to do early Cheltenham work is made so much harder by not knowing who’s sticking with the hurdles and who’s going chasing!
September 24, 2014 at 22:18 #490852NJH sends Whisper over fences so backed Beat That at double figure prices in the week.
October 14, 2014 at 06:43 #492282More of That stays over hurdles; is it just a case of turning up?
October 19, 2014 at 18:04 #492926I thought as much but Briars Hill could be the one to make him go

Possibly but money for Faugheen with us this afternoon; 10s from 14s.
Juggling job for Mullins..
November 19, 2014 at 22:13 #495790Zarkandar will run a better race, the Nicholls team have realised he needs a long break between races – good EW shot
November 29, 2014 at 16:52 #496881Cole Harden ran a fine World Hurdle trial today, probably going off just a yard too fast in that ground. At 5, he’s given the 7-y-o winner (who got a cannier ride and was on one of his good days) 8lbs, and must be exceptional value at 33s with Paddy Power.
Never argue with a fool. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience, then onlookers might not be able to tell the difference. https://lazybet.com/

Jonjo being Jonjo today, More of That will repeat last years win!
November 29, 2014 at 20:11 #496906Looking more and more like Jonjo only wants Cheltenham winners – come on bookies push out More of That to 5s
December 31, 2014 at 12:22 #499983There’s a massive trial for this at Cheltenham tomorrow.
Vaniteux gets weight from Rock On Ruby, Cole Harden and the returning Beat That. Tinkler rides Beat That and Barry G rides Vaniteux. Beat That is the one to watch in my opinion. If he can come back to be third or fourth despite the non-ideal conditions, weight concession and fitness worries, he’ll probably be my World Hurdle horse. He’ll probably be pushed out a little too.
January 1, 2015 at 15:36 #500060With Harry Fry all but confirming Rock On Ruby will go in this, does anyone else think that 14s on offer represent a rather nice EW price?
Horse who’s usually there or thereabouts at the track, in decent form, not exactly a mega-vintage crop of staying hurdlers, will surely be a heck of a lot less on the day…I like it.

So don't run, just like the others always do

You beat me to it. He seems to have found some real zest, loves Cheltenham, looks a probable runner and will be half the price or shorter on the day.
I’ve backed Cole Harden at 33 for the WH and he got a very odd ride today (after drifting in the betting). Trainer did not indicate a change of tactics when interviewed a minute before the race "They’ll all know they’ve been in a race". But he surrendered his key asset from the outset by staying with the filed rather than trying to make it a real test. Strange for a proven stayer with a storming front-running style.

January 1, 2015 at 16:42 #500064Awfully disappointing from Beat That, even allowing for weakness in the market and being so keen early. He’d smash Cole Harden at his best, which is a measure of how badly he underperformed.
Rock On Ruby is an interesting horse and one I still haven’t figured out. Harry Fry said he was always a staying two-miler, yet he travelled better than most in his Champion Hurdle win and outpaced some speedy types from a less-than-breakneck pace.
He also seemingly failed to stay in testing 2m 4f+ races as a young horse. Perhaps his class just got him through today. Like Hardy Eustace and Brave Inca, he might be winning staying events through sheer backclass but will be exposed as a non-stayer when forced to go for three miles in a championship event.
January 1, 2015 at 20:54 #500097TYF, if it weren’t for the anticipated presence of Cole Harden, I wouldn’t be that concerned about RoR getting the trip, as I recall some stat claiming World Hurdles are rarely run at a hot pace. Also, he won with quite a bit in hand today and you know the saying about age bringing a helping of stamina with it. 14s looks big.
