The more I know the less I understand.
I find it increasingly irritating that the so-called paddock watchers just regurgitate the well known form figures rather than actually report on the current well-being of the horses.
Not that they’re much good at either angle.I thought ITV covered Ascot pretty well. Downsides Mark and Charlotte’s inane inserts, Ed Chamberlain going on and on like a broken record and no Miss Nicholls.

Yes there were some good extra features during the coverage, could do without the fashion and food twaddle. Ruby adds insight, and the post race analysis is great, some of the other so called experts are superfluous though.
But it’s free to view so can’t really knock it.If you missed a race at Ascot on itv you can totally forget about seeing a replay of it as it was originally shown.
When they discuss and show highlights or the best races they do it with fancy camera angles or chopped up bits of the action and NEVER as it was originally shown. It’s as if they can’t resist playing about with the footage …if you don’t watch it live you’ve got no chance of seeing it again properly.
