Have been away again, so sorry not to have posted earlier. Many congratulations to Mtoto and Ginger for such an exciting finish to the comp, and many, many thanks to Ginge for managing such a fun competition. Look forward to next year’s version.

So saddened by this dreadful news. Such a wonderful and beautiful horse. Hopeful that some of his cubs can carry on his name.
This is great. Let’s hope the good news of his recuperation continues.
What a great renewal this is. Sitting on the fence and watching, but FWIW I think that both Platinum Star and Lope y Fernandez will be closer to Pinatubo this time.
Thanks for your sympathetic responses. Good luck with your canny Wildcard, Jac. I don’t think anyone else has CM in their list.
And, Ginge, while those are potentially interesting tweaks to an excellent competition, wouldn’t they make managing the comp more difficult for you? It is disappointing that not everyone took up the Wildcard, but I guess some have lost interest if they felt they were too far back. Good luck with your tussle with Mtoto.I really like this comp because, while it doesn’t take up much time (except yours, of course, Ginger), it gives an extra interest for the whole season. I for one love to see that leaderboard change and players from the back making their move. Thanks again for running it.
Oh dear, after my Iridessa fiasco a while back, what’s far worse is I missed the Wildcard Window! Was away for a couple of days last week and found on returning that our internet connection was up the creek. While it’s back now (even though the engineer having been called failed to show up!) it’s still a bit dodgy.
Poor star-crossed Sea of Class is still starring in my list. I really, really need Cross Counter, Too Darn Hot and Hermosa to put their best feet forward and WIN this week!
Terrible news after a glimmer of hope recently. A bright star that would have shone even brighter.
How cruel for the filly, her connections and for all in racing. This season is certainly the poorer for her absence. Best wishes and hopes for her complete recovery.
Back from the States yesterday. Hope everyone enjoyed Royal Ascot and the Irish Derby weekend – some pretty big surprises.
Oh, dear me – I had Iridessa sitting in my subs and missed out on her points for the Pretty Polly. As soon as I saw that Blue Point had been retired, I wanted to sub her in, but hadn’t taken my laptop with me and didn’t have my password to hand. I just knew she’d win after that frustration!
Please can I have her now, Ginger?Blue Point – OUT
Iridessa – INHope all goes well for you with your check-up on Wednesday, Ginger.
I’ll be out of the country from Wednesday onwards for a big family get-together, thereby missing all of Royal Ascot except the first day. Good luck, everyone, and enjoy.
Magna Grecia out of the race. Hopefully he can make it back, possibly for the Eclipse.
Ballydoyle’s runners – Circus Maximus (mile too short), Van Beethoven and Irish Rover (mile too long). Throwing darts.
Dreadful, dreadful news about Lady Kaya. So very sorry for connections.
Of much less importance – this race has lost a bit of star quality with her passing.
For me it would be that sad – very sad indeed. Being a great racing fan but living on a pension, I do not subscribe to cable or sky and would be bereft if racing disappeared from terrestrial TV. I can live with the bad bits (or mute them) to get real excitement and pleasure from the really good bits. Are the dedicated racing channels so much better?
Hi Ginger, I’d like to bring one of my subs into play now that Calyx won’t be running for a while.
Calyx OUT
Ten Sovereigns INThanks.
Just a small correction, Ginger. Nefertiti is a she!
Hermosa’s been such a star. I wonder if she can keep it up. Don’t like the plan for the Prix de Diane and would prefer to see her in the Pretty Polly on the 28th June.
Love Hermosa, but I too think East may well be the one here.
Glad to hear you had a good holiday. Great time of year for the Lake District. Thanks for the quick updating!
