Hi, all. Although I’ve been reading the Forum for quite a while (and love it except on the rare occasions of personal negativity), this is my first time of posting.
I just thought Badactor should get a reply, since US racing doesn’t excite too many positive responses on here.
It’s interesting to see that the form of the Blue Grass Stakes (run at Keeneland on polytrack last Saturday) has not been highly regarded by most US pundits. Pyro raced dismally, yet is still at or near the top of most lists. I don’t think any Derby winner of recent years has made such a poor show in its final prep. Most seem to think all will be different on the dirt at Churchill.
The Blue Grass winner Monba just about gets into most Top 10s, and no one seems to think that Cowboy Cal (second in the BG and by Giant’s Causeway) will be able to transfer his good turf and artificial surface form to the dirt.
I just can’t see Pyro doing a complete turnaround from the Blue Grass. Big Brown for me!
