Does anyone know the whereabouts of this runner-up to Islington in the 2003 Breeder’s Cup Filly and Mare Turf? After that final run as a 3 year-old she was retired by Coolmore, and I haven’t been able to find out anything about her since.
Really liked her from her first run and am very interested to know if she’s had any foals? Any information on them? Noticed that her half sister by Dalakhani (Moonstone – lovely name) is entered in a Leopardstown maiden on Sunday.
Grateful to anyone who can help.
April 18, 2008 at 12:59 #158516She has a Sadlers Wells 2 year old filly and a yearling colt by the same sire.
April 18, 2008 at 13:09 #158522Thanks Aidan. I’m really looking forward to her offspring. Sadler’s Wells/Darshaan nick still going strong.
April 20, 2008 at 16:37 #158910I thought this was going to be a thread asking where L’Ancresse racecourse is, after it appeared in a horse’s form record.
It’s in Guernsey, btw, though I’m not sure the one meeting there, resurrected two years ago after a lengthy absence, is set to be run again in 2008.

April 21, 2008 at 11:21 #159057L’Ancresse-the-mare also has an unraced 3yo filly called Minkova, again by Sadler’s Wells.
April 22, 2008 at 15:22 #159279Thanks, Sal. I put Minkova’s name into the RP’s search facility and came up with nothing. Does this mean she’s not in training and out to the paddocks already?
Moonstone second on her debut btw.
April 23, 2008 at 11:36 #159393Usually animals get added to the RP base when they first get a race entry. Her absence from the base means she does not hold, and has not had, any race entries.
As far as I know, she hasn’t been sold at public auction, died, been exported or been registered as a mare. She could be in training in Ireland, but most likely she’s had a problem and isn’t doing anything until she’s mature enough to breed from. But generally, your guess is as good as mine.
May 9, 2008 at 08:04 #162412I have only seen this thread now.
Minkova is owned by Coolmore, but was not up to training.
Waltz is now in training in Ballydoyle, she is the latest filly (by Sadlers Wells) out of the mare.
May 9, 2008 at 11:53 #162468Interestingly enough have you seen who is the new favorite for the oaks, she was getting backed the other day before sail went out and won the cheshire oaks (sail interestingly was sat at 33s and unfancied), and were still backing her afterwards. Its pretty fair something is expected of moonstone.
Interesting that the Musidora Stakes entries have just come out today and she is amongst them, aswell as the blue wind stakes at naas.
May 10, 2008 at 21:40 #162654The Musidora should be some race – really looking forward to it! Hope Moonstone runs well.
Also will look forward to Waltz getting to the track – hope she can be as good as her mum.
Thanks everyone for all your info on this thread.
