I’m on Calyx at 14’s for this
I read between the lines and doubled him up with Too Darn Hot for the guineas…..

May 4, 2019 at 16:05 #1431170Aidan O’Brien has just said that Ten Sovereigns will be dropped to six furlongs now, raising the intriguing prospect of a clash with Calyx here.
Hopefully that means better odds will be available about the Gosden hotpot.
May 4, 2019 at 17:17 #1431199Nathan your Calyx ticket looks very golden here, reminds me of my Blue Point ticket lately
May 4, 2019 at 17:26 #1431204Yes,
thanks Hein
plenty of tickets went west with Too Darn Hot not making the Guineas
had a 300/1 plus multi running onto TDH and then Calyx for this
One I’ll be a millionaire ….

May 18, 2019 at 16:10 #1439514Happy with Khaadem that was nice win by him and improve a lot on 2nd run he will to
June 6, 2019 at 12:11 #1444704Calyx is out of race now
June 6, 2019 at 14:10 #1444709No luck with ante post this year
First le richebourg and penhill for Cheltenham now calyx for this
Big chunk of dead bets now, fortunately most were placed with the skybet free bet club weekly offer
My new bullet for this would be lady kaya I’d think
June 10, 2019 at 21:47 #1444996Calyx out of the race is a right kick on the balls. Had 15/2. But we march on…
Ten Soverieigns… shocker of a price. 6/4? Hahahaha. Worst priced horse of the season so far. I wouldn’t back him for this at triple those odds.
Lay of the week. Lay of the year. Terrible price. Shocking.
Khaadem would be the one if I wanted just one to take him on with. But at the favourites current odds, why go with one when you can just lump on the field to beat him.
June 10, 2019 at 23:00 #1445001If by any chance the ground went soft I would be interested in Vintage Brut at huge odds. No bet for me at the current prices.
June 11, 2019 at 10:54 #1445020Its funny how opinions differ so much, I backed Ten Sovereigns for this even with Calyx in the race, and there’s Middle of March saying he still cant win. Heehee
June 11, 2019 at 14:18 #1445042Lady Kaya 8/1
Form is very strong getting so close to Hermosa in the guineas & think this stiff 6F is perfect for her. Ten Sovereigns is one to take on as i think he should be in the Jersey & as much as i think Jash & Khaadem are decent, Lady Kaya has much the superior form.
June 11, 2019 at 16:28 #1445054Lady Kaya
June 11, 2019 at 18:16 #1445068Just to clarify Mike.. I’m not saying he can’t win.
But I think at 6/4 he’s one of the worst priced horses I’ve ever seen. I think he ought to be nearer 7/2 or 4/1 in all honesty.
June 11, 2019 at 18:43 #1445070Such a shame for connections about lady kaya
Now a no bet race for me with my original selection injured and my back up no longer with us
Gonna take it as a sign and just watch
June 11, 2019 at 19:46 #1445074Took 16/1 Ten Sovereigns after an impressive debut (not bred to get a mile). You’re right MOM, in that current form is not as much superior to the rest than betting would suggest. eg Only has 1/2 length in hand of Jash on Middle Park form. Advertise‘s 2 3/4 lengths second in the Dewhurst (splitting Too Darn Hot and Anthony Van Dyck) not far behind Ten Sovereigns form either. Jash won but far from impressive at odds-on reappearance. Despite being talked up by connections, Advertise disappointed badly in 2000 Guineas. What’s he still capable of? Meant to have a quick turn around but French version went by without him. Not seen since Newmarket. Lot’s been made of Hello Youmzain beating Calyx, but latter has a valid excuse now and HY will need to improve. Beating Royal Intervention 3 1/2 lengths is not Group 1 winning form (Sorry Jac). Fairyland and So Perfect are – on form – not that far behind their stable companion. But their merit seems established as below what’s usually needed in this race. Never No More might under certain circumstances be the better Ballydoyle alternative. Beat Derby second Madhmoon 1/2 length recieving 3 lbs; but that was 7f on soft ground and not seen since early April. Is he ok? If so probably needs soft ground to be effective down in trip. Alpine Hidaway is another who’s shown pretty good form (1000 Guineas) but disappointed last time (Epsom). Is this her target? Jersey might be better. Big Brother’s Pride would be interesting if coming over from France; but she’s also in the King’s Stand. One I do like is Khaadem. Comes from sprint king Charlie Hills, progressive form to win last three. Last of which to win the listed Carnavon Stakes by a comfortable 1/2 length from Oxted. Needs to improve a good bit more. Sadly, Ten Sovereigns biggest threat Lady Kaya met with a fatal injury today.
As said, Ten Sovereigns form is currently not a terrific amount ahead of some rivals; but the way he travelled through the Guineas imo strongly suggests he: (A) Currently holds the best form which will in itself probably be good enough to win an average renewal. (B) Capable of improving on his two year old form once returned to sprinting. (C) More likely to run to form than vast majority.
Ten Sovereigns available @ around 15/8. tbh That doesn’t seem bad value to me.
Value Is EverythingJune 12, 2019 at 10:28 #1445109Sickened by the Lady Kaya news.
Sheila & Joanne had a cracker of a filly on there hands, who they were rolling the dice with after getting big offers, and for this to happen is nothing short of aggravating. Cruel game at times!June 12, 2019 at 16:04 #1445154Dreadful, dreadful news about Lady Kaya. So very sorry for connections.
Of much less importance – this race has lost a bit of star quality with her passing.
