    Weve been through this before

Big difference between a very fine trainer and a “genius”

Funny how the possibly even more successful (in his field) Nichols doesnt get labeled with these silly tags. Image (and the very likeable doesnt cultivate his Harry Potterish demeanor im sure) is a big factor

Some of the schoolboy (nationlistic?) fawning over him on here is a bit embarrasing at times

Fantastic race. Aidan O’Brien is a genius.

Please explain that – how? silly comment

Extremely silly comment. The way Aidan does it year in, year out always has his horses ready and every detail tactically is never left uncovered.

Just a run of the mill trainer.

He may have the ammunition but boy does he get the best out of them.

Rubbish, any fool could do it if they had the horses O’Brien has

Wouldn’t say Henry’s performance was disappointing, he hardly did a jot once he hit the front and I’m sure he’d have picked up again had Raven’s Pass got to within a neck of him. Murtagh dropping the reins and having to reorganise himself also didn’t help. Sometimes we’re never satisfied unless a horse streaks 2 or 3 lengths clear, but in reality the Rock wasn’t a flashy winner either, just got the job done with as little fuss as possible. Were they to reoppose, I’d expect the placings between the first two to be the same, but do feel there is a race or two for Raven’s Pass, maybe even at group 1 as there are plenty of mile races to go for nd the older miles are probably a few pounds short of top class.

Spot on there, there could be a group 1 in Ravens Pass

Its now got to the point that if you don’t hear Aiden O’Brien calling a Coolmore Group 1 horse the best / fastest he’s ever trained, it can be construed as a negative.

well he has just set the track record, so Aiden must be talking cake :D

What was Spencer at staying out the back when there was going to be a few Ballydoyle horses that were not exactly going to move out of the way, he needed to come wide

I would love to see Henry become something special and I beleive that at the start of the season he is. What worries me is how his form seemed to tail off after his ascot win as a 2 y o. Could the same thing happen this year??

he was raced on the wrong ground

hard to see past Soldier of Fortune at the moment, depending if and what kind of shape New Approach turns up in, he will have to be looked at

    Its called history and tradition.

If you didn’t feel a sense of anticipation and excitement at history about to be made on Saturday night then you are not racing fans.

If you cannot marvel in the exploits of Secretariat and Citation, and dream that one day their exploits are equalled, then you may as well give up now.

I agree, I was even tempted to fly over to America to witness it, just as well know I didn’t 8)
