Who does everyone fancy?
After seeing the Prix Diana in France, I’m tempted to have a punt at Zarkava
June 12, 2008 at 05:46 #167961Soldier Of Fortune for me. Won well in the coronation and always thought after last year he would come through to be a very good 4 year old. Travells well and always grinds it out when in a battle. Would love to see Peeping Fawn run but for some reason AoB dosnt seem keen on running her in the big races, probably due to stud values etc for the colts.
June 12, 2008 at 05:49 #167962Was gutted when S.O.F. won the Coronation mate, I’d followed it for a little while but something told me to go for Michita instead which was a bad mistake. Good horse AoB’s SoF.
I don’t get you mate on stud prices for colts?
June 12, 2008 at 06:05 #167965What has Michita got to do with Soldier Of Fortune in the Coronation?

Oh must have got mixed up with Michita running in the oaks then and Youmazin who I backed in the Coronation.
June 12, 2008 at 10:57 #167975Hello,

June 12, 2008 at 14:14 #168011I wanted to wait on starting a thread like this. Even had a perfect title for it too!
I’m sticking locally to find an Arc winner. Tamayuz, Prospect Wells of the 3YO camp – Getaway of the elders.

I saw exactly the same thing! the way he was running at epsom suggested to me he needed to be stepped up in trip, but someone told me he pulled hard all the way round.
Certainly the best jockey/trainer combo in england.
But what about tartan bearer??? surely he must be aimed at the arc too

i was on Tartan for the Derby (sick) but do you think he could beat SOF & Youziman? and can he reverse form with New Approach???
June 12, 2008 at 14:27 #168020hard to see past Soldier of Fortune at the moment, depending if and what kind of shape New Approach turns up in, he will have to be looked at

I like the horse a lot, and from where I was standing in the derby (in the coach section) I thought he won it from the two distant rear ends!!
but as already proved, he is an improving horse, and i think if ridden to get his head infront 200yards from the line instead of 2 furlong i think he will be hard to beat.
Although as you say, soldier of fortune and youmzain will be quite hard to beat! I just think the horse has a better chance than papal bull
June 12, 2008 at 17:43 #168047A long time until October.
I’ll wait until after the Longchamps trials.

June 12, 2008 at 18:58 #168060Very difficult to beat the French in this race; I backed Bago the other year when the Brits couldn’t see beyond North Light…however, I do think Soldier of Fortune is a bit special. Wish so much, though, that Peeping Fawn would take her chance; seems to be a good time of year for mares…if she was just in foal as well I could see her slaughtering the lot of them.
June 12, 2008 at 19:06 #168090All being well, I’m off to the Arc this year, and although it’s a bit too early for predictions, I’ll be keeping an eye on Saddex and Meisho Samson as possible ante post bets.

June 12, 2008 at 19:26 #168070One who may be overlooked and should really love a good gallop is LUCARNO.
June 12, 2008 at 19:40 #168096Isn’t this smack middle of Paris?
June 12, 2008 at 19:52 #168098I’ve never been to Longchamp, but I planned to go last year so I mapped a route out, and it’s on a Metro line. Certainly nearer to the centre of Paris than Chantilly anyway.
