13-2 for Aqlaam was a stupid price for a horse on the up,Gonna be one for the future on that hot run!! I see Frankie made a wise choice on the second.Favorite was very disappointing IMO.
June 18, 2008 at 14:49 #169086Can’t believe the price on Majestic Roi. It must have a better than 4 or 5% chance of winning the 3.05.
June 18, 2008 at 15:10 #169090OMG
Two on the belt
Should i be posting my selections before they win?
Last bet of the day for me anyway
June 18, 2008 at 15:15 #169093I tell you something i feel sorry for Ryan Moore,s girlfriend/wife as that jockey is far too early to peak !!! he should have held her up and went way too early.
good to see C-P-L get his first proper Royal Ascot winner though.
June 18, 2008 at 15:17 #169094i backed Grecian Dancer E/W dont think would have won but deffo met some trouble in runing and done well to finish 1 3/4 lengths 3rd
June 18, 2008 at 15:52 #169104what a perfomance by the Duke great win

June 18, 2008 at 15:56 #169108Stunning performance.
i couldnt believe so many were doubting that he would win?
roll on Yeats tomorrow
June 18, 2008 at 16:03 #169111Is it that stunning that Duke of Marmalade is 5 lengths better than Stotsfold?
June 18, 2008 at 16:09 #169113what a perfomance by the Duke great win
Great perfomance, and what a ride by Johnny Boy! He knew well before the home turn he could get boxed in, so eased out and had a perfect position swinging in. Moore tried in vein to keep him in, but Johnny was wise to it.
Wee Willie Carson was on the money – he said last night before going off the air that this horse was a "penalty kick" – Claire Balding had to contradict him before the race, and he was proven right. It now transpires Johnny told Willie in the car park yesterday that the Duke is the best horse in Ballydoyle – so to dismiss this form as useless is a tad harsh – especially since Finsceal Beo did her bit for the form yesterday. Good of Willie to pass on the info as well – he may not be a master of broadcasting technique but he is usually spot on when he says a horse cannot be beaten.
i was thinking the same watching it that he could get boxed in, great ride, he was on Irish radio this morning and he gave a confident view of race as much as not saying it will win!!! just need Yeats to come good tomorrow
June 18, 2008 at 16:32 #169116Oh dear, Bankable, the good thing, gets turned over. Has to be the draw effect doesn’t, as he was the best of those drawn high. Got a bit agitated but nothing too serious, so has to be the draw I think.
Agree

Another top performance from the small men with small brains. Noone can tell me that there has been an obvious draw bias here this week, yet all 30 geniuses come stand side. I predict 1) Everyone will now be banging on about a near-rail bias 2) If anything has the guts to stay far side in big fields they’ll be competitive.June 18, 2008 at 16:35 #169118Perhaps not, dj, but he’s crucified Phoenix Tower and Pipedreamer and done so with relative ease.

It was no good thing Firefox – easy to say afterwards but I did allude to it beforehand if you read my earlier post.
Everything looked in his favour, but I just couldn’t get away from his last three wins being on good to soft or softer – only his maiden win was on anything resembling today’s fast ground.
I’m not saying that is the reason he got beat, but for me he was always opposable at the odds and Docofthebay (what does he have to do to win a big race) looked great e/w material.

Very reminiscent of 2003, Attache and all that.
