Now that he’s come out of the woodwork and is proving to be a serious Group 1 horse this season, I think Duke Of Marmalade is in too sweet of form to be swayed in the Prince of Wales’ Stakes. Just need to review his St James’ Palace to see if he travelled fine.
Not sure about the Gold Cup. Two horses with two different styles IMO. Yeats is dour and will stay the Sahara but Septimus has toe.
June 11, 2008 at 15:08 #167827Henrythenavigator if he runs in the St. james
June 11, 2008 at 15:19 #167832Zarkava, if she runs in the Coronation Stakes.

June 11, 2008 at 15:25 #167833The only dead cert at Royal Ascot is that I wont be backing a winner.
But I do like Geordieland this year, he seems a very quirky character and I think Osbourne finally has understood him.
Wishful Thinking perhaps…June 11, 2008 at 15:44 #167836Wishful thinking? Surely an understatement!!!!
I see a few tipsters have pushed that Phoenix Tower is more favourable choice in the PoW!
June 11, 2008 at 16:52 #167847Sakhee’s Secret – Golden Jubillee
June 11, 2008 at 17:15 #167849Not a dead cert but i hope Fleeting Spirit can win the Kings Stand.
I had £500 win @ 9/2 a few days after her last race and it’s now best priced 3/1.
June 11, 2008 at 17:55 #167859Cesare in the Queen Anne…
June 11, 2008 at 20:03 #167876I like Tariq, thought he was unlucky in running last time out, trainer’s happy with him. not dead cert though by any means.

June 11, 2008 at 20:35 #167883Is there such a thing as a banker in The Royal Hunt Cup – before the draw is known? I’d say no. Yet Bankable is just over 2/1 on Betfair at the moment. Can’t be having that, so would be my LAY.
With a decent draw, could quite fancy WE’LL COME in Hunt Cup. (14.5 – inc stake) at present. Michael Jarvis’s relatively lightly raced 4-y-o ran on nicely over 7f on seasonal debut without having a hard race and looks to have been put away for this (although that’s probably true of quite a few).
Don’t normally back horses nowadays, but if he’s double figures on the day might have a dabble. Not a banker but I’d suggest better value than Bankable.June 11, 2008 at 20:36 #167884Not sure about the Gold Cup. Two horses with two different styles IMO. I think I read somewhere that Septimus is a doubtful runner, but I stand to be corrected. It won’t matter anyway as nothing will get near Coastal Path.

your correct i read the same on attheraces i think o’brien said he prob wouldnt be ready
June 11, 2008 at 20:50 #167886Septimus will not be running against Yeats in the gold cup, O’Brien has said this
June 11, 2008 at 21:42 #167890I’m not a fan of competitive handicaps involving big fields, but Luca Cumani’s Bankable must have an outstanding chance in the Hunt Cup. The horse was very impressive last time out at Goodwood, and will be raised something like 19lbs by the handicapper after Ascot.

June 11, 2008 at 23:06 #167902My Royal Ascot dead cert is that the place will be full of toffee nosed snobs who have no idea about horse racing and only go to be seen.
Yeats for the Gold Cup and hopefully one of the NH trainers will win the Ascot Stakes which for me is my fave race of the meeting along with the Queen Alexandra, Proper horse races
June 12, 2008 at 02:10 #167929BRONZE CANNON in the King Edward. Progressing fast and rock solid form in high class hanidcaps. Looks ready for step up in class/trip and will be hard to beat.
