I know the Hannons aren’t exactly afraid of talking one of theirs up, but Threat would have to be my selection. I’m hoping her turns out to be the best they have had since Canford Cliffs (who I rate as the best horse ever to run against Frankel) Would be interested to know who others think was best?
Willie John looked a great e/w bet to me.
Let’s set myself up for a fall but, I really can’t see Apples Jade winning.
Nap – Epatante
Lay – Apples Jade
E/W Pic D’OrhyOne of them will end up here. It will stink but I expect it to happen.
Listening to Nicky Henderson at the Unibet preview night, it’s hard not to be enthused about Angels Breath. He clearly thinks a lot of the horse, said he would pick it over Mister Fisher and all but confirmed Nico will ride it. It’s not necessarily what he said, that I liked, it’s the way he said it……
If nothing else changes, I’ll predict Laurina will go off either 9/4 or 6/1. And depending on which it is, will give you the result before the off! A yard where money usually gives a huge indication in championship races.
Lots of good arguments for and against Laurina. I would suspect that whilst she hasn’t raced against any particularly good horses, she is with a yard that have a fair idea of what is needed and of how much ability she possess. This is factored in to her price for sure. I believe they think she is pretty special, and if she is, she will go very close.
Granted, but Altiors rating will be based on him as a 2m horse not a 2m 5f horse. The ratings basically say that Cyrname is 3lb better over his favoured distance than Altior is over his favoured distance. I think that is daft. I’d love to hear the explanation as to why.
I agree. I really don’t know how anyone could sit there and say they think Cyrname is 3lb better than Altior no matter how impressive he has been a couple of times. Baffling.
An update would be nice wouldn’t it. His tweet yesterday confirmed which horses can’t run, a couple that will run and said further updates to follow. Nothing followed.
If anyone is interested, Skybet have some horses priced up as bigger ‘to win any race’ than to win an individual race. Notably, Tiger Roll (9/4 v 2/1) and Sir Erec (15/8 v 6/4)
For anyone that fancies Sir Erec and likes a bit of perceived value, he is 6/4 to win the Triumph with Skybet or 15/8 to win any race….NRNB
I know what you mean! But I’d much rather the same scenario on the flat than over fences. I’ve never felt jumps prices like the fact that they have large obstacles to clear as well as the opposition.
Fascinating to see that for the trial race on Saturday, Angels Breath is 4/5 out to 6/4 and Mister Fisher is 4/1 to 7/4.
Indication that there isn’t much between them at all? Or that AB might swevre the race? Any opinions welcome.
Skybet have installed Beaumec De Houelle as 8/1 2nd Fav………
Thought on Carlo Biraghi after today? 14/1 looks more than fair compared with Sir Erec 7s and Tiger Tap Tap 10s on a direct line of with Andalusa. If you consider that Andalusa was punted today and has probably improved a far bit since his debut run and the manner of CBs win today, has to be a live one for this. I’ll take a punt on him.
