For some reason this is the first time I’ve noticed this thread for a couple of weeks. Still on the first page, but it is a good ‘un already.

Thanks for the local knowledge Funkmaster, there ain’t that much of it around. We usually have to rely on Fist in Thailand.

Only bet with betfair, so I was surprised that Kingsfort is 16/1. For some reason on betfair, it is hard for the price to get much lower than 30 or so. The funny thing is, I used to look at the 2000 Guineas market 2 or 3 times a day last Summer, but I’ve barely looked at it this year.

A couple of things I already wanted to comment on, but this one really annoyed me. Will read it to remind me what its about.

After the mess he made of the race last year I wouldn’t be interested in any of AOB’s. Especially as the animals behind SNA in the betting have achieved bugger all.

Aah, it annoyed me on two levels. First, AOB isn’t capable of learning?

Secondly, Beethoven. This is the secret love that I have kept away from Zarkava. You can’t knock this one out on pedigree. What its got against it is all those runs.

One of the reasons that people knocked Kingsfort’s run in the National Stakes was how close Beethoven was, but Beethoven went on to win the Dewhurst.

My pleasure. Like most people I don’t get much info that I would read too much into but the are so many stables around these parts and every now and again you get to hear something worth while. It’s just a shame I didn’t listen to my own advice for Cheltenham though as I didn’t back Cue Card like I suggested on the bumper thread! lol

Yeah I’m glad someone else has looked at the General, backed him 10 days ago at 43s, done reverse forecasts with Dunguib + have put him in my placepot and jackpot. Silly price for a CD winner with bags of potential.

I too backed him about 10 days ago, but you must have snaffled the price up before me as I got 36.4! GB / Chelt 16th Mar / Supreme Nov Hrd General Miller Back 10272590535 05-Mar-10

I think that stepping him up to 2m 4f was a mistake, they have realised that and he comes here with a good e/w chance. His run against Ghizao showed he has the right battling qualities for me.

I see On Raglan Road is in to 15’s on Betfair. With Scriptwriter currently 45 in the pecking order would that suggest that Johnson is likely to give him his chance?

Nice boost for the form of Shot From The Hip with Acey (4th behind him) winning very cosily in the 5.25 at Limerick today. Down to 8.2 on Betfair now…

Strong fancy with Shot From The Hip like many people. But also fancy Cue Card as an each way bet. Does anyone give Cue Card much of a chance? Form of his only start seems to be working out quite well, was never really asked any questions and the stale seem to think he is their best ever bumper runner? (not sure if they have had many good ones though!)

See pages 4 and 8 – nobody else has mentioned it.

Cheers Stilvi, that was lazy of me!!

I have to agree with you Bulwark, as an e/w bet I think that Time For Rupert is a great bet. I backed him Aintree last year (albeit at 20/1 not the 50/1 SP!) and have followed him since. Granted he shouldn’t get near Big Bucks, but I would think a place is very much a realistic propersition.

I still think Khyber Kim has every chance. The faster they go, the more it will suit him. Granted he will want a bit of cut, but providing there is and they go a good clip (which surely they will do), then I think he will take the all the beating.
