Each to their own but I find Matt hugely entertaining and his Sunday forum with the likes of Chris cook a real treat. Mcririck is annoying with his constant interrupting of others but usually makes a lot of valid points. Ruk I find very patronising as somebody who has a good knowledge of horses and breeding find atr, with a few exceptions, entertaining and informative. All about opinions though.
Ruler of the world is already on the coolmore site as going to stud at the beginning of next year. Maybe a good run in the arc may change that.
Aiden doesn’t place the horses, the lads(magnier, tabor and smith)do. He is an employee of coolmore. I doubt there is a trainer who has so much pressure to deal with as him. Too many snipers on here as opposed to those looking at things objectively.
Ryan Moore hasn’t exactly had a good weekend either. Joseph is still a very young man so will make mistakes as did a young l piggott s cauthen and p eddery the three best jockeys I have seen. Too many think Ryan Moore doesn’t make mistakes but he does but they aren’t highlighted as much. Australia has a chance to set the record straight at ascot but I do worry the horse might have peaked. As for stud value it is only in the short term that they will have cost coolmore. Should Camelot and Australia produce great offspring then what they earn in the first 3 years at stud will be dwarfed by their later earnings. War front started off at 20000 dollars a stud and is now nearer ten times that per covering and glalileos fee is now close to 300,000 as opposed to a tenth that when he started. It could be the like of master craftsman become standard bearers for coolmore instead of Camelot or Australia as it’s toughness that tends to make the best sires and not necessarily the most talented.
Probably learnt that too many people blame jockeys when most of the time the horse wasn’t good enough. Australia would maybe have beaten tgg by a length at most but no guarantee he would have. Brown panther ,although flattered by winning margin was a worthy winner. Treve isn’t the same horse this year an if taghrooda is the fav for the arc then it’s the weakest race for many a year. Also I think john oxx should get more credit for the way he trained sea the stars. Not sure the horse is as great as many are saying but it was a great training performance to achieve what he did. Also aob has a cracking bunch of 2 yos as well and JFK could well justify the hype. Last thing is that the unusual firm ground could well have caused a few of the strange results we are seeing and if it comes up soft on arc weekend expect a few reversals of recent form.
That’s the fun in looking forward to seeing how promising 2yos develop. Ol man river may turn out the best but for guessing by the way JFK has come forward and continues to do(apparently) then I’m looking to him to be a very decent 3yo. It’s no coincidence he is running in the same race as Australia did last year but well know more after the weekend.
The tie in with magician is a bit dubious. The heavy ground suited noble mission and magician couldn’t quicken on it. On good ground magician would have hacked up and noble mission has been well placed to win its races. Sea the moon has it all to do in the arc and I agree that tapestry and taghrooda look the ones to be on if of course tapestry goes there. The form of the Yorkshire oaks looks rock solid to me and taghrooda probably ran to her king George form but was beaten by a rapidly improving filly with the rest of the field nowhere, the sign of an honest result.

You can’t look at maiden form and then try to measure horses on that. Sea the stars maiden runs were against moderate animals as was his last run at 2.of the obrien colts JFK looks to have come forward the most and if his homework is translated to the course he will be a very exciting prospect. Still expect one or two top 2yos to come from ballydoyle yet as a few were very sick in the spring and have taken longer to come to hand. That could have been a blessing in disguise.
I think tapestry is running over a mile to support champions weekend in Ireland. Should the going be good on arc day then coolmore have a call to make. The arc or the breeders cup. I think on good ground she has the speed to challenge for the arc but will end up at the breeders cup.
Alleged remains one of the great horses for me and his two arc wins were both very easy. He was a unique horse in that he only ran twice in his second season before winning the arc. Was rated 138 which shows how good he was and it will take an amazing training feat by Madame head for her to win although the arc doesn’t look as strong as previous years. Ruler of the world each way for me if he runs well on Sunday.

Hopefully it will return to the bbc sometime as their coverage was great . Ruk is not worth the money I’m afraid and Matt and the guys at atr are much more interesting and informative for me.
JFK to me looks the most progressive. Highland reel looks like being an 8 to 10f horse. Glemeagles looks the hardest to Suss but looks plenty quick for a typical ballydolle middle distance horse. The likes of ol man river look to have huge potential and ballydoyle usually have a cracking late developing two year old out about now. On paper a very strong hand of youngsters for aob to chase glory next season. He also has the fillies words and found who look very exciting too. Money doesn’t always guarantee success as the 5m euro flop we seen in France but once again coolmore seem to have got a great crop coming through which is testament, yet again to john magniers eye for an horse.
As a very proud scot the thought of independence excites me greatly especially as we have had govts we didn’t vote for for most of my life. The problem is the uncertainty of what will happen plus the total lack of concrete plans by the yes side and an intense dislike of soapy salmond. I agree with most people on here that the morningside nature of most middle class scots will prevail and the staus quo will be maintained. Pictures of a worried queen will scare the life out of the over 65s in Scotland. As for racing in an independent Scotland as in most things during the referendum the truth is nobody has a clue what will happen an we will have to suck it and see if it happens.
Arc is wide open and the likes of ruler of the world are not without a chance though it is asking a lot of the horse after such along lay off. Tapestry to me looks the value if ballydoyle decide to go there instead of the breeders cup.
John f Kennedy looks to me the one who will turn out best as he looks like he is growing rapidly and looks very good in his maiden. Well know better after the dew hurst etc but obrien does tend to send one of his best to the racing post trophy so whatever turns up there could be a big hint.

Maybe I’m looking at it through rose tinted glasses but where are the mtotos and dahlias. They were two superb racehorses on their day. The only great horses that stay in training these days are stayers and hopefully we will see leading light strut his stuff for a few years yet. Only beaten once since his debut. Much underrated horse.
