Thin edge of the wedge. How racing continues is determined by its actions today.
The guy is in charge of an entire yard. His actions are subconsciously or consciously taken in by those around him. It’s not a subordinate or someone disassociated with the yard, It is literally the embodiment of the training centre itself. That is what blows it out of the water.
It maybe a moment of madness from Gordan, but WHAT THE ****, WHY have you sat on a dead horse, WHY have you allowed someone to photograph a dead horse, let alone you sat upon one? Why was it allowed to be sent out with the tagline “new workrider this morning”. Callousness.
Is this the thin edge of the wedge? The narrative that race horses are treated like kings has dissipated. How many more pictures like this are lurking in people’s librarie?
Dar Re Mi has literally no luck when it comes to classics.
I’m 2/3rds the way through this, and really enjoying it. Would recommend.

Simon your link for some reason links to:
I’m sorry to hear about the twitter page being closed down.
“Cracksman’s next port of call is likely to be the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh on May 27, before an intended appearance in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot.
His main midsummer target is the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes back at Ascot in July.
Oppenheimer added: “That (Tattersalls Gold Cup) is the plan and then hopefully Royal Ascot, but he won’t go anywhere if the ground is firm. He can handle everything else. Good to firm or soft ground is not a problem for him.
“I would love to win the King George.””
I thinks it’s pretty likley that Cracksman runs in this. His owner used to sponsor the race and seemed to be pretty keen on winning it with Golden Horn until the weather intervened.
Tattersalls Gold Cup 27th May
Prince of Wales Stakes 20th June
King George 28th JulyThey’re beautifully spaced out.
Zarkamiya (Frankel x Zarkava) runs at ParisLongchamp in the 1:20 tomorrow. She is Zarkava’s sixth foal but only the second one to make it to the track after Zarak.
10/1 Arkle
8/1 CH
4/1 JLT
8/1 RSA8/1 RSA looks the best atm.
I don’t want to overate the performance but wow, he got shuffled back then made a mistake and still won. That took some guts. Feel sorry for Kalashnikov, he’s a horse that is getting encouragement to go from further out than most, but sticks his head down and responds. He had to win the race twice and just didn’t have the reserves.
Getabird was a head scratcher, Owner said he was too keen. But i think theres something else that could come to light.
I was fancying Fagan for this, but he wasn’t mentioned in the Elliot Racing Post Cheltenham stable tour. Although they only listed 28, and earlier on in the piece it states hes planning to run between 35-40 over the week.
Jury Duty was though and this is his intended target.
How is Ben Pauling in bad form? He’s had 4 winners from 4 runners in the past 2 days.
Gordan Elliot said today that Samcro is running in the 2m race because the ground is too soft. And he’ll be stepped up for the Ballymore at the festival.
Douvan and Faugheen
It was Vautor and Faugheen. The next year one won the champion hurdle the other won the JLT, so they might be thinking they shouldn’t pigeon hole horses? I dunno, second guessing Mullins is a minefield.
They’ll see what Sharjah does in the deloitte hurdle.
If they switch Getabird to the ballymore, it wouldn’t shock me if Samcro rocks up in the Supreme.
“Douvan heading for Tingle Creek
Douvan has been pleasing us at home and I was very happy with the work he did during the week. We hadn’t decided where he’d start off his campaign but that has changed and the likelihood now is he’ll go to Sandown for the Tingle Creek next month.”
Willie Mullins Racing Post article for members only.
Confirmed is probably the wrong word to use.
Also in the article he said that UDS could start off in this or the Hilly Way.
Douvan confirmed to be going here. Into 9/4.
Ravenhill Road 40/1 – Brian Ellison described him as a “machine” when interviewed the other week. Bolted up at Sedgefield yesterday by 23L. Now unbeaten in 4 starts, I’ll be disappointed if he isn’t good enough to be there in March.
