Parsons Pistol only managed 5th. It was Florida Express that was 4th.
In all honesty I though Carberry had pulled up PP, must have came with a fair rattle after the last….
Wherever he is aimed at this season the form of his Ballymore win took a big boost yesterday with the easy win of Diamond Harry and the impressive run of Karabak.
I imagine he will be a stayer in time but possibly they will aim him at the Arkle this season.
He did run very keen but he obviously has a big engine in there. I imagine that will be his last handicap for some time.
This may have been a pipe opener for a chasing career? Very eye-catching performance wherever he goes next.
Very impressive from Diamond Harry, I would imagine they will keep him hurdling now. A potential challenger to Big Bucks maybe?
I have a feeling Karabak is more ready for this assignment, and Zaynars will come on for the run.
Agree with that.
On the face of it Solwhit looks like he might be a horse that prefers further but my word he showed some turn of pace last time out! Very debatable if he could reproduce that in a larger field and up the Cheltenham hill but he certainly adds some spice to an already exciting race…
Breeding wise Diamond Harry does not fit the profile of a likely RSA horse. I’m not sure this horse is even cut out for chasing. He would need to jump straighter over his fences than he does his hurdles.
I just hope Binocular gets some more top class experience before the Champion Hurdle this time around.
In my opinion he was to inexperienced last year. The best place for a horse to learn is on the track.
I think thats all refelected in his price though ben.
That’s fair enough Bulwark.
He is a talented beast but not entirely straight forward.
Think I will also have a go on Red Moloney, I think he was foiled by being to close to a furious pace at cheltenham last year on similar ground to what he’ll be getting tomorrow. I imagine many wont want to gives theirs a hard race and if they dont go off too fast he could be very dangerous at 25-1.
J Howard Johson has a pretty poor record at Ascot, I wouldn’t be parting with any of my cash on his runners. Red Moloney was less than straight forward last time out as well….
This has been the plan for Herecomesthetruth so expect a big run.
Some big entries in there. I’m sure over half won’t run but already looking a tasty race. Newcastle is a fairly testing track so that will benefit Binocular with regards to Cheltenham-like experience.
Have backed Hello Bud for the National but hope he does not win. (Unless I end up backing him for Sunday). The winner of this will be walloped by the handicapper for April.
Good idea by connections to give Hello Bud some experience over the big ones. Looks like he has held his form from last season so must be full steam ahead for a tilt at the National.
His age is a slight concern although it doesnt seem to be bothering the horse himself!!
Dave’s Dream makes him chasing debut today at Huntingdon. Personally I feel he is a horse that will be better suited to further but I believe the Arkle is his target this season. Connections have always thought highly of this one and chasing has always been the plan. Numide and Micheal Flips in opposition todays so we may get a couple more Arkle clues.
For me Sizing Europe is not a horse you want on your side in a battle. When he outclasses the field then yes he is a pretty safe proposition but he does not strike me as an animal who would get down and dirty when the chips were down. I cannot see him outclassing the Arkle field….
Sizing Europe
Sizing Europe was indeed impressive this afternoon, but I think the decision not to take on Tataniano at Cheltenham speaks volumes. .
Very fair point.
He is a talented animal but can’t have him for the Arkle. I think conections are aware of his limitations and are happy to sweep up some easier races at home.
Dunguib will need a hell of a lot more experience if he is to tackle the Champion. Has beaten nothing so far and probably hasn’t learned anything from his 2 races. Needs to take on some top quality opposition sooner rather than later.
