I would love it to happen but just dont think its possible. AP deserves to win but Button was on the BBC all year long and you can be sure they will be pushing hard for him to take the title…
Can’t have The Listener. Cheltenham has not been a happy hunting ground for the grey. His fall in the RSA chase has stayed with him and it’s unlikely he would get his ground.
Looks like Starluck wont run but if he does I wouldn’t be rushing in to back him. A very classy horse but I think he would be first to give way in a battle. In a small field he would be very competitive but in a large field handicap I fear he may down tools when asked to put up a fight.
Yeah I would agree. Osana sure to improve and showed he has lost none of his battling qualities.
Osana takes on 15 at Navan, currently around 6/4 mark. Couple in there that could give ham a race, namely Roberto Goldback and Realt Dubh. Heavy Irish ground might not be to the former Pipe horse’s liking?
Go Native is a horse that was always going to need further in time. Today’s performance probably hints that now is the time…
Don’t think he gets 2 miles all that well to be honest, Ben
Interesting view Shabby.
I think a step up would do him the world of good. He definitely isn’t champion Hurdle class and he has bags of inherited stamina in his pedigree.
Interesting to see where they place him….
From what I hear the first race they are putting him in is back over hurdles in the Greatwood
That is an interesting step. Doesn’t look an obvious race for the horse….

Just goes to show how good an Arkle they are expecting.
Ashkazar failed to attract any attention in the betting market for the Arkle.
It could be they have given up on that idea already running him over 2m4f. Can’t see him being an RSA horse either……….suggested target anyone?
That was Askazar’s 1st attempt past 2 miles so maybe connections have an eye on further targets? Jewson Maybe? Rated 155 over hurdles so likely to be high in the weights when he gets a mark. His breeding suggests a step up in distance shouldnt be a problem and he shouldnt have a problem staying the RSA trip.
Interesting to see where they place him….
Looked to be struggling turning for home. Good ride. I expected him to be a non-stayer…..
Well said Bosranic.
At least BG was man enough to come on live TV and admit he did wrong. We all make mistakes, if we didnt we would never learn….
Cesare is in fact 8yo, turning 9yo in a few months.
Haha! Thats what I get!
I think Snoopy Loopy’s exertions last season have left him a broken horse. I hope I am wrong but it looks to me as if he will never reach those heights again. 18 runs from Jan 08 to Apr 09 are sure to have left their mark.
Have to be a four year old for the Triumph (3 year old at the moment, 4 year old come March) Cesare is a 6 year old so Supreme Nov would be his target if staying in the novice ranks.
Cesare – Too much speed in his pedigree, cant see him getting up the hill.
Surprised they have sent him hurdling, not sure if he is the sort to take to the jumping game……..
I can add another negative for Deep Purple; his Dosage Rating is not suitable for the race when compared with previous winners. This backs up the sire stat mentioned previously in this thread.
Starting to look like a lay…..
Fist – Not sure how you gave Canada Street 6/10. He looks well out of his depth here. Rated 110, he has to find masses of improvement to get competitive in this.
