NAP – Sir Des Champs – Jewson
EW – Rock on Ruby – Betting without Hurricane. 8-1!!!!
Should be 4-1 in my opinion. Take on the 5 year olds annd oscar and him are closely matched. Ew bet at 8-1 should finish in the top four.
LAY- Kauto for a place in GC and Zarkandar and Grandouet in the champion hurdle.

    Easy.

I suspect he will still go to the Jewson. i hope so anyway.

Willie Mullins wants him to go RSA by the looks of the interview but mentioned both. I’ll back him wherever but Jewson looks weaker and a sure fire win too me. I notice he is being clipped a little for this race on oddschecker. 8s now unavailable.

Simply the other two wouldn’t be as good over 2m4 in my opinion whereas this lad could easily mop this up with his devastating jumpingand finishing prowess.

I think Mullins wants him to go rsa because he has nothing else for it.

Dont get me wrong i rate simonsig and second to fingal is great form. Just seems to be an awful lot of people fancying him for the festival on that SECOND place whereby he looked like he would go past but never did.

I am not in the league of writing horses off after one race trust me. I am however trying to get an angle on the novices where evidence is thin. The way i interpret Simonsig is he has a decent engine, what doesnt in the supreme line up though. He has done nothing over 2m. His stamina could stand him in good stead. He had the chance to go by fingal then was outclassed IMO and that was it. What if that means his final burst was not able sustain for long or what happens if he has no heart for a battle, they are questions that for me üpoint negatively against him on early evidence, wouldnt lay him but wouldnt bet either. he may not be single figured price but nothing is and he is one of the lower prices.

Long and short is they know they cant beat fingal which means dropping down in distance.

Watch the benbulben race with ipsos and another half furlong and ipsos would have destroyed benbulben, his jumping is a little right too. As i said i am on sea of thunder but wouldnt be increasing my money on him, my opinion is he was murdered by several better horses and his form prior ro his seemingly awesome cheltenham display was ordinary too. I will just sit on what i have and attack ipsos once nrnb comes in. Unless Boston goes for it in which case it will be that monster.

I thought these sort of connecting bets were of limit too. Idea being if the field is smaller the the race is easier to win for Hurricane. It is clearer in other areas but this is a dodgy one and i would get it confirmed by email perhaps that it is definitely allowed so they dont adjust if it comes in. Seen it happen before.

Am i the oly one who is doubting this Simonsig hype. I have watched the replay against Fingal and he travels like he is going to go right by him. Then the stayer potential of fingal who seems to slowing pulls away again. Simonsig never went past and i would have expected him too the way he was travelling. forget the ground nonsense, he was still powering all the way in that ground but the charge emptied out to nothing. I just couldnt trust that.

I am on sea of thunder. his ratings are too low he was poor last time and should have been a lot closer regardless of ground preference. He was going to murder a poorish field at cheltenham so course suits but i am jumping ship. BOSTONS BOB will win if lining up no doubt!!!!

If not, Ipsos will be the one, lazy type but echoes a lot of decent staying hurdlers who need a bit of rousting along. I am seriously excited about this one!!!

I have to say i am shocked that midnight game isn’t favourite. Purely on the basis that any horse that mullins has seems to shorten too much, that is another reason to keep picking at the 14s for a few weeks i think. Irish money will see the horse go right in come the tuesday.

    Point taken Zarks.

Monksland has to have a decent enough shout in the neptune I think it is between him and the front two. He has a nice upward curve in ratings and won going away from a decentish field last time.

Regarding the supreme I think it is deliciously open. I am all over Cash and Go and Midnight game. I think the Irish hold the aces this year. I have had a saver on colour squad because I think he is the best we have seen in Britain and I also think he would have won cosily if holding straight last time and trust him to not do the same.

However ratings wise the irish seem a little better. My only concern is cinders and ashes, I don’t trust the small field form however. I also didn’t like most his hurdling in two recent races he tends to clip 80% of them and lose ground. Having said that both races weren’t ferocious and when the pace quickened he looked a lot more efficient over them so a big field and pace could work for him. WIld card i suppose but wouldn’t touch him at the moment. TOO SHORT for what he has done. I am on the team paddy for this one.

Don’t think it was meant as a slur toward galway as a festival. Just the irrelevance of his record at galway when talking about cheltenham.

I am reluctant to rule out Meade hurdlers anymore. He has had a couple of winners in recent years with go native and nicanor.

A lot of great horses lose on jumps debut. Jesus.

How anyone can derive either way if he is going to win the triumph is baffling. I got on the hype and am happy with a win. The triumph looks so week at the moment it is laughable, basically if grumeti, pearl swan, and all behind finish like they do none of them are stars that’s for sure and i am tempted to lay the lot of them. Simply henderson will have something up his sleeve, Dildar will improve but to what standard who knows. Another positive from dildar is he had loads of work to do after the last and put it to bed smartly enough. My major concern with him is his jumping ok the odd mistake but he looked distinctly messy over every single one and if he loses a length or two at each jump he has no chance.

Sadlers is the one to be on at the moment. Jumped efficiently, put a novice field at a decent track to bed with ease, Hobbs did the job in similar style with Detroit city so it has to be him at 8-1.

THen wait for the adonis and look for a monster.

He actually wooped long run in the paddy power albeit of a low weight but that is course form. Twiston davies comes good in march and that was an encouraging run.

giving 5 pounds to cyclone, i thought the win was worht a little more distance. Caught on the rail and then switched at high speed just before the last i can forgive the only error albeit a blunder that nearly cost him and he showed devastating kick after that similar to his last win. I like him a lot. Hope he goes for this race though.
