Nope. Not to hot on the mechanics of it all. i simply assumed if it is -1 to -3 every night the covers would do little?

Surely the covers arent that effective and the ground will not thaw enough???

i am no expert so anyones experience is valued. Would they be able to race with the current sort of forecast?

    I bloody hope so.

I for one will be monitoring this race closely with an eye on slapping a further point or two on colour squadron. Captain wins and then i’ll go in on the squadron reversing form.

I was very interested in what was available.

Slammabammed into the 5-4. Wanted a rolling on double for the arkle but couldn’t.

    Might go again.

If you like SS for this surely 5-4 is an absolute steel for the saturday event.

Much less to beat than in the arkle.

Zarks, they wont be worried if they have noticed the bet. if it goes against their policies they would just adjust the settlement if it came as a winner.

Never expect the bookies to contact you with advice on these sort of things.

I do agree that it is not as heavily connected as some bets but their is a connection the smaller the field the less competitive the race is for hurricane.

    Very iffy.

Nice shout on the field size bet though. Hopefully the no hoper does one and doesnt cock it up.

Never know, when Zarkandar gets mullered saturday he might not run afterall……

National types have a bit of history placing. Quito and burtons fit the bill there.

I agree we have a weak 3 mile division, hence my loyaly to Long Run.

Next year will be belting though and i am tempted to get Al Ferof for the king george now. he will only shorten as long as he places in the arkle.

I am concerned how many gigginstown horses i fancy, which is a lot down to superstition which is nonsence, atleast they are spread accross a nice blend of irish trainers.

Another thing, got a lot of irish horses in my portfolio. mmmmm

Not much has impressed me this side of the water, Fingal, LR, and the arkle boys.

I suspect Twiston Davies will land a nice prize with one of his low rated handicap chasers. Quietish season but March is the time for his yard. Like Astracad for the annual and love educated evans jumping.

Anyway, this irish card looks fantastic. Really must get over to Ireland for one of the festivals.

But yes 100/1 about a fair placed novice chaser where the other protagonists are around 33 and lower is not a bad shout.

A horse that interests me is Burton Port but i can’t be arsed to second guess chemical nicky. I’ll just wait to see how he goes.

Just hoping Quito shows a bit more early dash. No 20 length out paced please.

Although I have stated I don’t agree that Magnanimity is a decent bet i understand fully where CS is coming on the price. Simply put the others from the RSA have done very little, Bostons imo hasn’t progressed and the use of headgear just heightens that for me.

Whereas Mag has only one run since and that can’t be true form. However another chief concern is he injured himself in the rsa and that run was dire last time. My concern is the injury might have done more damage to his racing capabilities.

Basically if synchronised wins this aswell I’ll be concerned about all of them in the GC.

    Synchronised is last years Kempes!!!

Thought i was the only one who had noted third intentions credentials. Jumps the hurdles superb gaining lengths ateach one. His run up with the pas when about 6/7th to brampour was fantastic. all the others up front died a death yet he was still there after the last. He has matured and is getting better.

There is no guarantee that the triumph horses progress at the same rate and many just don’t especially the flat bred types. This is one reason along with the negative vibes and short price to take on the favourite.

If Zarkandar is a champion horse I would want him to stuff Empire Levant like rock on Ruby did at newbury. Especially of 11 stone 1. Rock on Ruby was on 11st 12. MONSTER. Best performance of the season other than the hurricane.

Third Intention will give his running and i like him immensely.

Just laughing to myself at the notion of last years gold cup being weak. What a load of tosh.

Winner has run two solid seconds,
    second retired through injury,
3rd wins the betfair and the king george
4th has only ran in the national regarding chase form
    5th murdered the argento
6th second i n the argento confirming for with the 5th and hammering a few second season hopers.
    8th not ran since
9th won the hennessy hammering second seasoners.
Pulled up Weird al the nails second season hopers agai n in the charlie hall.

Why should magnanimity improve, what suggests he has, this is the most hopeful effort to find a long priced winner.

Quito is the only horse not to have been tested against these horses.

Stating the gold cup was weak is laughable.

What a truly high class renewal of the RSA Magnanimity nearly won.

    Field full of snails.

thanks for the well wish on the bet but how do you mean Kauto holds him on form. over an extra 2 furlongs and different course. He held him at Kempton under new tactics. Those tactics wont work in the larger field with more front runners.

I have to say i shant be risking much on the bet because i am still hurting from not backing him last year. There is a hint of chasing lost winnings in my mind so i am being cautious. I do however think every angle is covered and if long run gets round he wins. I think he will get round.

Heyho, monies down so wait and hope.

I still think Long run sould be shorter. I suspect I am going to rue my words. I don’t have a betting account with a few bookies so i am going to open some new ones and get some free bets on the horse, say £50 on the nose at 9-4 followed in with a free £50 will be 9-2 on the champ.

Regardless of this he has beaten all except Kauto. 12 year olds don’t win gold cups!!!!

Weird al is best fresh and couldn’t beat long run who is worst fresh. Oppose

Long run then hammered all and was going to get passed kauto in half a furlong at kempton,, Kautos favourite track. Take Kauto out of this equation because he won’t win. Say he wasn’t there this year. We look at a 20 length winner of the king george and winner of the betfair on reappearance after i think proving a little shoddy when fresh.

Long Run would be 2 from 2 and odds on.

If you are like me and can’t see kauto winning then Long run is grossly overpriced. Nothing has come close to him. He has never fallen, has a monster engine at 7 is in his french prime.

the only horses who might have a say are the ones he hasn’t hammered yet. Being tsome of the irish and Grand crus.

Grands crus shouldn’t run if he does he will get smashed for stamina and grit.

Quito has the each way vote at 25s and will be topping up until the day on anything down to 16s.

What else can touch him? If Long Run gets round he wins. He has never fallen and I am in his camp that he won’t here either.

Got my tickets for saturday. not much of a betting day but some cracking horses to get a look at. Really looking forward to it. in particular Sprinter and Long Run.

Supreme trial will be a corker too. Cannot wait.

Empire Levant and Third Intention do the business boys!!!
